I'll give Trump the benefit of the doubt on the handshake. He might not have heard Merkel, and at least two reporters shouting for the standard handshake photo op.
In due course Trump will hopefully learn the standard protocols, and to avoid saying awkward and stupid things, like 'Obama wire tapped both of us'.

The media's preferred comparison:
The Obama picture taken near the start, Trump's picture time-stamped at 11:04am, nearly 1 hour prior.
Protestors and "logistics" (read: coordination with protestors and the left) forced many people to walk nearly another mile around the area to the only entrance that was available, causing many late arrivals.
Even CNN's gigapixel version showed the crowds to be similar, not exact, but similar - not the vast discrepancy the media wants you to believe.

Here's the media's preferred comparison: Now, all you have to do is to show a legitimate picture of the Trump inauguration taken from the same angle showing a comparable or larger crowd. There is no doubt that the National Park Service pictures are real and legitimate. The only question is whether the photo of the crowd at Trump's inauguration was taken when the crowd size peaked. I am counting on you to provide photographic evidence to support your allegation that this is a fake story.

Or Trump's to Clinton's:
Like you, I don't really give two craps about who had more people show up, just pointing out obvious media bias and fake news.
97% of DC voted for Obama, 91% of DC voted against Trump.
It was cold with rain for Trump, cold and sunny for Obama.

Trump deserves a mulligan on his handshake protocol failure. Chalk it up to inexperience.
You are obviously conceding that the crowd for Trump's inauguration was smaller than that of Obama's first inauguration. So, it isn't "fake news" after all. But, it is meaningless, which makes all of the consternation silly.

I'm not going too watch this crap... I know what was said. That's not a point of debate. What is made up is: The claim that this ONE conversation has now created a "euphemism" of any kind. That, is NOT fact. It's opinion. Liberal, blow-hard opinion... and, you have swallowed it.. Hook, like and sinker.

So, it isn't "fake news" after all. But, it is meaningless, which makes all of the consternation silly. The photo showing NO ONE there for Trump's inauguration was FAKE NEWS. It was disingenuous, and gives an intentionally FALSE impression. The issue, to me, was never whether Trump had more.... I don't think he did. The issue was, they purposely lied about the true number of people who were there. Just one more step in a concerted effort to de-legitimize Trump's historic victory.

Anybody have any photos of the tens of thousands of cheering people when the World Trade Center went down ? No.. but I DO RECALL seeing video of people cheering, IN AMERICA, on TV. It happened, and it was reported. I saw what I suspect was the same video, and reports that Trump saw. Not "tens of thousands" here, more like a hundred. There WERE "tens of thousands" shown celebrating in Gaza.

Anybody have any photos of the tens of thousands of cheering people when the World Trade Center went down ? Most have been scrubbed from the net now. WaPo, MTV and others have scrubbed their stories from the original reports - "technical difficulties"
Can't let Trump be found truthful.
But, it did happen - across the globe, including in the US.

What's not true is the BS comparison most of the media ran with, creating fake news that Trump hardly had anyone show up.
That's how you create fake news through "true" photos.
Here’s a more important question: Was there even enough difference between Trump’s inauguration audience and Obama’s to merit making a story out of it, much less spreading the story all over the globe, much less going on about it for a week, much less grilling the president’s spokespeople about why the president lied about his audience size as Chuck Todd did on NBC for an entire thirteen minutes, during which he referred to Kellyanne Conway’s statements as “ridiculous” and claimed that her “alternative facts” were “falsehoods?”

That's how you create fake news through "true" photos. Are you capable of an original thought? You label almost everything "fake news", a term that someone else originated. The fact is Trump's crowd was significantly smaller than Obama's, for whatever reasons. Trump made it an issue and kept the story alive, unnecessarily, by falsely claiming that his crowd was considerably larger than was Obama's. If Trump had simple kept his big mouth shut, this story would have gone away overnight. There was a significant difference in crowd size. However, Trump's inauguration crowd was likely the third-largest ever: www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/2017/jan/20/inaugural-crowd-sizes-ranked/Barack Obama, 2013: 1 million Barack Obama, 2009: 1.8 million (generally considered a record for people on the National Mall) George W. Bush, 2005: 400,000 George W. Bush, 2001: 300,000 Bill Clinton, 1997: 250,000 Bill Clinton, 1993: 800,000 George H.W. Bush, 1989: 300,000 Ronald Reagan, 1985: 140,000 tickets sold, but record cold moved the swearing-in ceremony indoors Ronald Reagan, 1981: 10,000, according to the New York Times. This was the first year the ceremony was performed on the west side of the Capitol. Abraham Lincoln and George Washington: a few hundred, perhaps. I don't care much for Chuck Todd, but in this case he was right. Kellyanne Conway's "alternative facts" were falsehoods, and her statements were ridiculous. For a fleeting moment, it seemed like she had mastered Orwellian double-speak. Did you notice that the Trump administration dropped the term "alternative facts" like a hot potato?
