Believe it or not the tota lcost of this film was a staggering $343,000.

Could have been Rocky. No real big stars at the time, shot in Philly, and from what I recall it was a pretty quick shoot. Just a guess...

Marty also comes to mind. Cost less in 1955 to make a movie than now or 1976 for that matter. Doubt Ernest Borgnine was pulling down a huge salary back then.

Wonder what the budget was for one of my all-time favorites: "Plan 9 From Outer Space"? I don't know but the budget for 'Whatever Happened to Baby Jane' was $1 million. My wife and I have been watching the FX series Feud about the making of this movie and the hatred the stars, Bette Davis and Joan Crawford, had for each other so Monday night we decided to watch Baby Jane - what a hoot. It's about as campy as movies get and watching Bette kick the shit out of Joan and serve her parakeets and rats for dinner was hysterical. The FX series is also hysterical - it's on Sunday nights at 10 pm. There have been 3 shows so far, I think it's a 10 show series.
