As long as you keep trying to revive the dead horse, yes... Typical Bevo throwing out random statements with absolutely no facts to back them up. Keep up the good work. Facts? What facts? We don't need no stinking facts. I have NOT gone out of my way to try to denigrate Ohio State. I think they're a great team. I THOUGHT they'd be even better and I wasted $180 betting on them before the season began. All I have been doing is: RESPONDING to other people's post. When someone like Evil posts that "Ohio State should have been in the playoff", I'm going to disagree. And then, I'll guess you'll come along and say I'm the one "beating a dead horse". All the facts that are needed are RIGHT THERE for everyone to see.

I can understand why Buckeye fans get tired of hearing about how and why they were left out of the CFP. This year has been the ULTIMATE in frustration for Ohio State fans... I know, because I temporarily bought my way into being one.
You KNOW, you have a team that is good enough to beat anyone.... when you play your best. Sadly, they haven't always done that this year.
Here's a FACT: When you lose your SECOND game, to an unranked team by 31 points, in NOVEMBER?? You're NOT going to be selected for the CFP, even if you win your conference, as long as there is another P5 conference team with only 1 loss. You can chisel that fact into stone.
This year's Ohio State team is exactly the selling point for NOT having "mulligans". The pain, the hurt... it's real, and it last. They didn't do what they NEEDED to do during the regular season, and they absolutely DO NOT DESERVE a 'third chance'.... no matter how badly all their fans want one. Was the penalty really all that bad for you? You got to go BEAT UP on USC.
An expanded playoff field, including all conference champs, would give them just that... an undeserved mulligan.
THAT, is the strongest point AGAINST an expanded playoff field. It would ease your pain, this year. But, it will kill the passion, in the long term.
There... sorry to pile on, but... I thought I detected a pulse in that horse.

And, I MISS Hoya... where has he been? He was the most intelligent Sooner fan I ever heard. I actually think, maybe... MAYBE... he doesn't "suck"... Everyone else from Oklahoma CLEARY does! BAHAHAHA!!

10 conference champs + 6 'at large ' selections > 15 total games played > one genuine, undisputed national champion. Nothing to it .

10 conference champs + 6 'at large ' selections > 15 total games played > one genuine, undisputed national champion. Nothing to it . Would TOTALLY change the feel of the regular season. Wouldn't matter how many OOC games a team lost. Those games would be meaningless. On top of that, it would take 4 weeks to play. Fully a QUARTER of the season. And, would destroy any interest in ANY bowl games. So, only 16 teams would get ANY kind of post-season play. No thanks. I'm not willing to completely change the structure of the game, just so a bunch of teams in sub-standard conferences can get a free ride to a 4 game tourney. They should organize their OWN post-season tourney, and quit trying to destroy the structure of "Big Time" college football.

Yes, there would have to be some 'selection' process for the 'at large' entries...as there is in all team sports championships. The 10 champions select themselves.

Yup, Bevo, you could say that if the At Large teams were selected on opinions alone and one of them won the title. However, there could easily be a selective process without beauty contest opinions deciding anything.....a formula based 'at large' selection system ( similar to what CJH prefers). That would yield a non mythical champion.

The same teams including in such a farce are called rent-a-wins when they are scheduled in the regular season. Pure nonsense.
