. Probably a shocking factoid to the perception driven types. Whew! I'm not shocked AT ALL by that statistic.... so, I guess that leaves me out of that category!

Well if you're not somewhat surprised I guess it does leave you out Bevo. I always thought you perceived all, so called, G5 teams to have a much lower talent level than the, so called, P5s

I always thought you perceived all, so called, G5 teams to have a much lower talent level than the, so called, P5s I don't perceive that, the FACTS show that... on average, they do. But, there is "statistical overlap".
No one I know has ever said "ALL G5 teams have less talent than ALL P5 teams". That would be silly.
I will say this: There is NO P5 team that can match the talent level of the TOP P5 teams.... (Ie, Like Bama and Clemson, etc... ) The statistical overlap doesn't span THAT far.

What qualifies you to know what the motivation was among those Auburn players, Bevo ? Here's a quote from Kerryon Johnson, Auburn's star running back regarding the UCF game : " To those who thought we weren't motivated, you're not in our locker room, you're not in our practices, you're not in our meeting rooms. Obviously they don't know what is going on" BTW, Auburn pretty well ran over the rest of the SEC West but vs UCF (which doesn't belong) Auburn had a 2 yards per rushing attempt average ( 90 yds on 44 attempts) 2017 UCF could flat out PLAY. It just didn't 'sound' like it could play to those oriented to the perception/mythical system. Bowl results aren't a good indicator of how good teams are, especially with the long layover and a team's goals being crushed (Auburn) , whereas UCF viewed it as their "super bowl"...a lifetime opportunity to prove themselves.
Alabama also lost a Sugar Bowl once. Same applies.

Last time I ever saw Saban's team physically dominated ( by Utah)
If Utah got clobbered it means they didn't belong
When Utah wins it means Bama didn't try
...that's how the perception/mythical system works

The SEC West is the best division per Sagarin right now. So Alabama gets a little credit schedule wise Both Notre Dame and Clemson benefitted from a weak pathetic ACC this year. Did Clemson play anyone good?

That's exactly what happened in that game... I knew it was going to happen BEFORE that game. It was highly predictable.
Bama was completely deflated... and, had already lost two KEY players that made up the foundation of the O-line... the core of that team. Then, very early in the game, they lost yet another All-American lineman.
From that point on, it was "Chinese Fire Drill" for Utah running through the line to the QB. At least, the Utah coach was smart enough to recognize the vulnerability and take maximum advantage. He was a smart dude, that coach... can't recall his name? Wonder what ever happened to him?

Did Clemson play anyone good? Clemson's sched in 18 was definitely hurt by FSU and Louisville (relative to the prior 3 years).
Furman was 6-4 so not included in the 7-win number.
But, have mercy, Clemson did schedule 2 SEC teams OOC Not going to go undefeated scheduling SEC teams out of conference.

I meant Georgia Southern but yes, 2 OOC games vs SEC should be commended. And they went to A+M....
