I tend to visit 2 college football boards - this one and The Ozone which is 24/7 Buckeye talk all the time.
Ohio State is currently ranked #3. Their quarterback is probably the top Heisman candidate not named Tua Alphabets. He has 25 TD passes in 6 games (3 of which he only played half the game.) They have wins over a #15 and #6 ranked team - they went to Happy Valley and survived the ever popular whiteout. They've played 2 of the best games of the season so far. Naturally there's going to be a letdown after you come off an emotional win but they still won by 23, racked up over 600 yards of offense and had 6 TD passes. I mean, what is there not to like about this team. Well.......
Dwayne Haskins is not a good runner, maybe they should put Martell in to switch things up. The same people bitched about JT Barrett's passing for 4 years and now they have one probably the best passing QB in school history and they want him to run. To read some of the comments on the forum, you'd think Ohio State was 3-3 and they lost to Indiana on Saturday. I doubt this is happening on the Alabama forum.
We have a coach who has a 76-8 record at Ohio State and they wonder if its time for a change. Add the 3-0 start and the team is 79-8 since Urban took over. 49-3 in conference play. It's not good enough for some people. They have wins over Alabama, Oklahoma, USC, ND, Oregon, 6-0 vs Michigan, 5-1 vs Penn State, 4-0 vs Wisconsin - Clemson is the only team they haven't beaten - it's absurd. And yet, they bitch. It's really amazing.

Clemson fans got like that after the 1st NC.
Expecting everything to be handed to them and not have to work for it. Some were never satisfied eve after 3 years of 12-0, 9-1-1, and 9-1-1.
Don't remember them going after Ford so much though or even questioning his judgments (my personal beef was once Ford got a lead, he always played prevent defense, so what would have been a superb statistical game for the defense usually was chipped away by the other team late in the game by throwing everything underneath and getting decent chunks of yards.

It was funny, one guy was bitching that the defense was way better in 2014 so I looked it up and through 6 games this year's team has given up fewer points while playing two top 15 teams. Indiana scored more in 2014 than this year (albeit by a point). Plus, they had a loss to VT at home. It's comical.

Urban Meyer is the 3rd most difficult head coach to beat in the history of 'major' CF ( only behind Rockne and Leahy). Unless it's off field stuff any clamoring for a change is off the chart 'DUMBTH' factor.

I believe Ohio State is a sure thing for the playoffs this year
Furthermore, I think Ohio State has a quiet 23 year dynasty going on, which includes: 2 National Championships 4 National Championship appearances 17 10-win seasons 2 Heisman Trophy winners 10 Big 10 Championships i haven't even touched on the bowl games the Buckeyes have won
They have one of the longest stretches of winning consistently at a very high level, enough to call it a dynasty in my opinion. It's not quite as championship-laden as the Alabama dynasty, but it is extremely impressive. Is there a better team over the last 23 years? Florida State comes close. LSU was good for a decent span, but they have kind of trailed off. Oklahoma and Florida have had good runs, but OU has 1 title to show for it, and Florida has been mediocre as of late.

This is the only board I hit. I pretty much tuned out all of the ESPN talking heads especially after the Urban debacle which at the end of the day they crucified him with no evidence to back up their claims. This board is one of the sane places where you can have some fun talking college football with some intelligence behind it to make it fun. I was at the WVU game on Saturday and it was amazing after Grier threw an interception and they were ready to bench him?

Texas fired Fred Akers even though he was winning almost 90% of his games. Too many bowl losses. I suspect, getting shutout in a couple of CFP games has a few Buckeye Bandwagon types upset. Basically. People mostly just be stupid.

since 2001 they are 15-2 vs Michigan. 5-2 under Urban in Bowl games. Tressel was 6-4 in bowl games including 1-2 in NC games.

I don’t feel the need to spend my time bragging about Bama but I am very proud. I feel I am viewing great college football. Words fail me to describe the run Saban has made at Alabama and not just Saban. Success on top of success. AND YET THEY BITCH I see it all the time. The idiots can’t wrap their little brains around the fact that change is coming. Enjoy every moment. Spend these wonderful moments in gleeful bliss. There is NOTHING worth complaining about. AND YET THEY BITCH There are are times when I can barely deal with my fellow fans.

Calling much of their programming foolishness would probably offend fools.

I posted this on the Buckeye board last Christmas and they actually put it in their Hall of Fame of posts...
In October of 2005 I was diagnosed with follicular lymphoma. I was 3 weeks shy of my 47th birthday, my wife and I had 3 teenaged children and the uncertainty of what lied ahead had us all terrified.
I vividly remember watching the 2006 Fiesta Bowl. Ohio State played Notre Dame and the speed of Ted Ginn, Santonio Holmes and Antonio Pittman was just too much for the Irish to handle. After the game I sat crying, wondering if that was the last Buckeye game I would ever watch. More importantly, I wondered if I'd see my children graduate from high school, college, get married and hold my grandchildren. You see, the next day I was starting chemotherapy and we had no idea how I would respond to the treatments.
Fortunately, I found a wonderful doctor and the treatment protocol for follicular lymphoma has dramatically improved over the years. I've been treated 5 times since 2005 and I'm still kicking. Today, I simply take a pill daily and it has kept the lymphoma in check for over 3 years now. I can do whatever I want, there's no worries about blood counts, losing the little hair I have, I'm more physically active today than I was in 2005. And my doctor remains my hero, not so much for the treatments but the way he's kept me positive about my situation over the years. When we first met he told me he was going to take care of me. He told me there were promising treatments being developed for my lymphoma. And he told our children that their dad (me) was going to be around for a long, long time. As I said, it's 12 years now and counting.
I look forward to every Buckeye football season like it's Christmas. It's a bond that I had with my dad and one that I share with my kids. I'm an Ohio State alum and there's nothing quite like going back to campus in the fall and reliving those college days. And even though I'm less than a year away from turning 60 those memories are as vivid as they were nearly 40 years ago. So many wonderful times I've spent on that campus and in Ohio Stadium.
I used to get caught up with all the recruiting news but I think our coaches have done just fine with the kids who want to be Buckeyes so I put my trust in them and look forward to cheering on the new crop of players over the next three to four years. We'll only get 15 games a year at best (14 this year), I'm going to enjoy them as much as I possibly can.
Since 2005, Ohio State has played 170 games - we've won 144 of them. (I don't give a damn about the vacated wins of 2010 - I watched Ohio State win 12 times that year, that's good enough for me!) That's nearly an 85% win percentage. And in that total is a 12-1 record against *ichigan. Not much to complain about there.
My kids have all graduated from college; they're off my payroll! In October of 2016 - the night of the Wisconsin game where we won in OT - our oldest son got married. (There were quite a few cell phones tuned in to the game that night and when the final sack occurred the reception hall erupted - our son's father-in-law wondered what the hell was going on.) And who knows, maybe next Christmas I'll be holding that first grandchild. It's all good, everybody! It's truly been a wonderful life. Merry Christmas!!!

There was a lot of chatter about the QB situation last year but as far as I am concerned these are Urban Meyers chips and us Buckeye fans need to sit back and watch it play out. I am really looking foward to the WVU - Texas game. Texas has vastly improved and WVU has a very dynamic offense. The Big12 clearly seems to be the most competitive conference out there and it will be a lot of fun watching it down the stretch.

Fans are utterly insane at times. I was a student at Utah when Urban Meyer was here, and he built a winner so quickly it still amazes me. I find it shocking that any group of fans would feel there is a step up as far as winning on the field from Urban Meyer.
