SEC: Alabama and Georgia - win out and in; Georgia is eliminated with any loss; Alabama is still in with a loss to Auburn and a win over Georgia and could still be in with a win over Auburn and a loss to Georgia, but needs some help; LSU is alive, but a real long shot.
ACC: Clemson probably in unless they lose to both South Carolina and Pittsburgh.
Notre Dame: Likely in regardless of the Southern Cal result, but a win would make it for sure.
Big Ten: Michigan is in if they win out; tOSU could get in by winning out, but needs some help. A loss eliminates either team.
Big 12: Oklahoma needs to beat WVU and Texas and still needs some help.
Pac 12: WSU needs to beat UW and Utah and needs a lot of help.
Everyone else is out the picture.

What kind of FBS championship is this DPI event when 1/2 of the FBS is systematically eliminated before a single game is played in the season

...so to get in all UCF had to do was schedule and dominate L'Ville, Arkansas State, La-Lafayette, and the Citadel and bingo !!! Remember , UCF nor any CF team has any choices in conferences scheduling but if UCF just played Bama's OOC schedule and dominated they're in !!! You should call the UCF AD and explain this simple path to the DPI to the AD and coaching staff. I bet they didn't know that.

if UCF just played Bama's OOC schedule and dominated they're in !! That's pretty stupid Hen, and you know it. And, for sure... you know I know it. So, what you said was intentionally antagonistic. We really don't need that. Especially not during Thanksgiving. Every school has to evaluate what it takes for THEM to be able to make the CFP. Easiest way? Get to a P5 conference. But, that alone doesn't do it. Even a school like Texas, being in the Big 12 knows... we need to schedule at least one tough OOC opponent to help make up for the relatively weaker SOS that comes from being in a weaker P5 conference. UCF is in G5 conference. To have a reasonable chance, they have to schedule some GOOD P5 teams for OOC play AND... BEAT them. Houston was oh so close just a few years ago. No one said it was easy. The SEC teams can schedule weaker OOC games because, their IN CONFERENCE schedule generates a better SOS. That's reality.. and, all teams have to deal with it... IF they really want a shot at the CFP. NO ONE is excluded by ANY rule. But, different teams start from different places, and must chart their own path to make it. And.. of course.. they all have to WIN. Most, if not all of their games.

UCF's OOC is practically equivalent to Bama's...they are both awful. someone needs to tell UCF to quit scheduling SC State....if they want respect, schedule 4 P5 teams. BYU can do it, Fresno State does it, it is possible...

UCF's was actually stronger.
A big sell brand name can clobber Citadel or Arkansas State 32-14 and get high rankings for it. A so called 'G5" can clobber the same teams 60-0 and hardly draw a vote for it. There is an unequivocal double standard and no non P5 team will ever be permitted to compete in a DPI. You guys aren't dumb and know that. 50% of the FBS is eliminated before a single FB is snapped.

I remember in 2001 Fresno State did just what Vodka said they schedulled, and beat Colorado( who won big 12 that year) and another power 5 school......using the BCS formula, if they had go fibished unbeaten they would have played the Miami Hurricanes for the national title.

Bama gets ZERO credit for playing against The Citadel. They get credit for DOMINATING a tough SEC lineup.

What kind of FBS championship is this DPI event when 1/2 of the FBS is systematically eliminated before a single game is played in the season A very good one. A championship that creates buzz and excitement. Your entire body of work matters, and losing 1-3 games, some of them badly, just means you’re out. Period. Playing in a crap division and getting lucky for 9 hours does not merit a national championship. There are no golden tickets.
