After watching the refs hand Brady & Patriots a pass to the Super Bowl the last 2 years, and watching the blatant non-call yesterday, I think I'm going to skip watching the NFL for now...
Why bother?
The NFL obviously and unapologetically has preferred match-ups they want to promote despite true competitive results on the field...
I can cite at least 4 games where the Patriots get free penalties to save drives and keep them within striking distance. Last year, you had the non-TD by Pittsburgh on the last play that gave the Patriots homefield advantage throughout the playoffs. This year, you had a bogus QB roughing and neutral zone infraction to keep them alive in Arrowhead stadium.
I don't know how the sport got so shady...I don't think it used to be this way. But if you can't watch a game without suspecting some bias reffing, what's the point?
And there is consistent bias reffing!
But....I think the worst part might be the sports media trying to gloss over the blown calls. Some people in the media said their opinion, but it is obviously the stance of networks like CBS and ESPN to try and avoid saying anything negative about the games or the NFL.
So the NFL got what they wanted...Brady Boy and the legendary Patriots against big market LA.
Why even play the season? Just skip the ref-rigged games and pick which big market team will play the Patriots every year in the Super Bowl.
Time to invest these hours of my life into something else.

Roughing the passer yes that was bogus......the Kansas City Defender absolutely did line up offsides on the interception that was cancelled out though. I thought the non call on the pass ibterference in the Saints game was far more egregious than anything called in the Patriots-Chiefs game though.Yes New England got a phantom roughing the passer, but Kansas City also got away with a missed pick call on the wide receiver that I felt being honest......kinda of evened things out.that missed PI in the Rams game though changed the Super Bowl Participants

Tom Brady is obviously a generational QB - his team's success speaks for itself. But I wonder if he would perform as well under the conditions that Unitas, Staubach, Moon, Kelly, Tarkenton, Griese, Stabler, Bradshaw etc played under - those guys got the hell beat out of them week after week. Brady get's breathed on and they call a penalty. He's never drilled, he get's wrapped up and they call the play dead. He never has to worry about Deacon Jones, Mean Joe Green or Bob Lilly knocking him out of his shoes. He's a prima donna and the pressure he faces isn't close to what it was a generation ago. It's just a different time. And obviously he knows what the hell he's doing but offenses have it far better today than they did 20-30 years ago.

Excellent points , doc. The farther you go back in sports the tougher it was in general.
