Looking at his new contract and based on his average # of at bats over his MLB career, Bryce Harper will be making approximately $53,800 per at bat for the next 13 years.

Baseball is pure stupidity. Two teams just committed $630 million to 2 players who have never won a World Series, combined have at best 4 HOF seasons and they’re on the hook for the next 10 - 13 years. And next year Mike Trout will get an even bigger contract. Very seldom do these huge contracts payoff - it’s pure stupidity.

Not bad for a guy who hit .249 last year. Are you serious? I just assumed he must've batted like 0.420 or something?

and yes even MLB writers call it "stupid money"
What would a 2019 version of Babe Ruth or a Sandy Koufax be worth today ?

SMH
I missed my calling. Apparently, my neighbor knows about this. I saw him outside yesterday, in the snow, pitching balls to his 3 yr old?? (maybe 4) son. I had to laugh. The first ball I saw was at least 3 feet over the tiny kid's head, but he swung like Babe Ruth going for the fences. It wasn't close.
I yelled at him from our deck. "Need a better pitcher!!"

If he flops in Philly those fans will brutalize him. That is a tough fan base for pro sports.Heck, They booed Mike Schmidt from time to time...probably the greatest 3B ever.
