I THOUGHT I remembered that day....there was more going on than I remembered. I was 100% wanting to watch the Rockets /Knick’s game...didn’t give a SHIT about OJ’s slow motion chase. To this day, I don’t understand NBC’s decision. They paid Millions of dollars for the EXCLUSIVE rights to show the game... but they cut away to show the SAME thing that every other station was showing.
I was furious, for days.
What a day.
It’s a good show ... whether you remember it, or not. 30 for 30 is ESPN at its best.

First - OJ was/is a coward...
My recollection of that day - we drove to Clearwater/Tampa/St. Pete, Florida for our annual family vacation. About 2 weeks before we left our 3 kids contracted the chicken pox - they had pretty much ran their course with our boys but our 2 year old daughter was still all blistered up and cranky. When we got to our hotel, around 7 pm, everyone was hungry (we always vacationed with my wife's sister's family) so they went out to get some pizza. Our daughter was sleeping so I stayed back at the hotel and told them to bring back a couple slices for me. Well I turned on the TV and it was nothing but OJ on every channel. I watched the white Bronco chase for what seemed like several hours and then they read the letter that sounded like a suicide note. When everyone got back to the hotel I told them I think OJ may have killed himself but obviously that didn't happen...he was too big a coward. I watched that 'The People vs OJ' mini-series a year or two ago and to see how they botched that trial was almost comical if it wasn't so criminal.

It seemed to match well with my understanding.
Funny thing, how the mind works... I actually couldn't remember whether Rockets won that day, or not. I KNEW we won the series, and the title. I had $100 bet on that series with one of the other assistant baseball coaches. I do remember, I was MAD that day... so, that suggested a loss.
I was SO MAD at NBC. The local station got FLOODED with calls. They kept going away from the game to show... NOTHING. Just a White Bronco, driving slowly around LA. Ever since then, several of my friends from time joke about putting somebody on a "Bronco Watch" when they seem to be getting a little crazy.
I'd forgotten all about Arnold Palmer playing his last US Open round that day, or about the Ticker Tape parade for the Rangers. There was a lot going on that day.
Did you see OJ speaking out on twitter this week? What a moron. He should be LAYING LOW, and thanking his lucky stars he's not in jail, or dead.

ESPN's 30 for 30 series is largely a series that do an outstanding job on. "Survive and Advance" was a very entertaining and thorough documentary about the 1982 NC State Wolfpack and Jimmy V, they did an outstanding job on it. The 30 for 30 series is the only thing I really like on ESPN other than the Golic's and occasionally First Take.(Plus College Football)

Back then, there weren't 73 CSI type shows on TV. DNA evidence was fairly new. For a case to have so much evidence and lose.... This one was clearly on the jury.
