Honorable mentions...bringing back key players or loaded on one side of the ball: Ohio State Clemson Florida State Syracuse Virginia Georgia Auburn Florida Iowa State Oklahoma Cincinnati

Ohio State is more loaded than every team on that list except Alabama. South Florida a VT - where do you come up with these statements?

Va Tech NOPE Check out the roster again. Athlon says they return 11 starters on D. Not too shabby i think the Virginia teams are going to be good in the ACC Coastal. Miami might make some waves if they get off on the right foot

They couldn't find ANYONE better than what they had?

I generally think it's better...I put more weight on junior and senior-laden teams. They are older and have been playing in the system. Talent is good, but experience is also a strong factor IMO watch Oklahoma's D this year. I promise you they will be much better. They aren't going to be Alabama defisively, but teams like VT and OU WILL be better. compare VT with the other teams in the Coastal. They should be much improved

That's what I suspected. Yep, very modest talent coming into Blacksburg of late. Actually ,Frank Beamer did more with less in his time with the Hokies. They've had a few great players but overall never any highly acclaimed recruiting classes.

Agree, Foster's defense simply has not been able to find those diamonds in the rough like they had historically.

Bud Foster just announced his retirement after the 2019 season. HOF Coordinator, not unlike Brent Venebles or Mickey Andrews
