Andrew Luck retiring a few days before the season. A shocking way to knock a hole is some early Fantasy Drafts.

Have to see who goes before me... I hope to be deciding between Zeke and Kamara. I'm REALLY hoping to get Chub, or Mahomes in Round 2... probably won't get either.

Ours is heavily weighted toward receptions so WR’s typically go highest. I won’t take players I can’t stand (no Big Ben or Antonio Brown) and I try to get some Buckeyes. So Michael Thomas and Zeke will be high on my board. I think we pick Labor Day.

So Michael Thomas and Zeke will be high on my board. I think we pick Labor Day. My second draft (local league that I commish) drafts on Labor Day. That's the best day of the year. Cowboys line is good, and their schedule is GREAT. But, I'm seriously starting to get worried about Zeke. I read somewhere that he can hold out like 8 games, and still get status for this year, which gives him additional leverage next year. I could see him doing that. I LOVE Michael Thomas. The dude is a beast, and the most accurate QB in the game LOVES him. I'll tell you another player that I think is grossly under-valued: Sony Michel. The Pats have really strengthened the O-line, and they run the ball a LOT more now. Their schedule is the easiest in the league (or, maybe #2). They're going to have a lot of game where they're way ahead at the end and are running a bunch. I also think Nick Chub is one of the Top 5 backs.... But, He goes around 10-12. I won't take him at 3, but I would at #5 if he was there. I also think Hopkins is over-rated. Watson will be OUT in a month. When he's not throwing, Hopkins is no Bueno. I wouldn't draft Antonio Brown in the last round. I like Ju-Ju and Adam Thielen at WR. I like WR's that CATCH THE DAMN BALL!! I'm the guru of middle round WR's to over-perform. HERO used to be "RB Whisperer"

I know nothing about fantasy FB but curious if there is much demand for old Blue Hen Joe Flacco ? none... he will go undrafted in fantasy. He's bad enough that, even the receivers he throws to will be downgraded. Flacco, in fantasy, was NEVER worth a bucket a spit. He's always played on teams that featured the run, and didn't have great receivers. He's the classic case of a guy who is a MUCH better NFL QB, than Fantasy QB.

Andrew Luck retiring a few days before the season. A shocking way to knock a hole is some early Fantasy Drafts. Luck's body has been destroyed. Grisgson only drafted 3 OL before the 7th round from 2012-2015. That killed his career. Luck was pressured 16 times a game, most in NFL. He was also the most hit QB. You won't last long in the league with those stats.

in regard to Luck, I've never had to have shoulder surgery or ACL surgery but I can only imagine the work that goes in to rehabbing major injuries like those. I broke my ribs and it took 6 weeks for me to be able to lie flat in the bed - that's why I say when they try to tell you a QB is playing with broken ribs I say that's BS - I could hardly walk or breathe!
Anyway, I remember Robert Smith retired really at the beak of his career, he definitely had a few years left in him. They asked why he retired as early as he did and he said I've already gonde through one rehab and I'm one hit away from needing to do it again, and I don't ever want to do it again. So I can get Luck walking away - if you're never 100% and al lyou do is rehab, that would definitely get old. He's smart, got plenty of money - if you can retire at 29, go for it...

When these QB's first come into the league they sometimes do well because they bring a different dynamic to the game that defenses may not be use to. Once the D coordinators get a chance to look at tendencies they seem to struggle. He needs to get through year 2 with success before he gets put high on my list. ..... oh and I also hate the Browns and not to fond of a player that plants his flag in the middle of my stadium.

Once the D coordinators get a chance to look at tendencies they seem to struggle. Generally, I agree with this statement. Especially true of QB's that run a lot. I'm not sure it will apply to Baker. His strength are: Ability to read and anticipate, and... accuracy. Not a whole lot that scheming can do to counter act those. Plus, I think the Browns system will be different this year. So, they probably don't have a goo grasp on tendencies just yet.
Baker's weapons were significantly upgrade in the off-season. I think he'll do pretty well. Still though, I wouldn't bank on him being Top 5 material for fantasy just yet. I think the Browns will try to run the ball quite a bit.
I'd wager he's in the Top 10.

I feel badly for Luck. But, damn.... is there no way he couldn't have made that decision back in the spring? He's REALLY left his team in a lurch.
I think we're going to see more and more of this... Antonio Brown's contract paid $30+M .. GUARANTEED... I think we're now seeing the result. Frankly, I'd be surprised to see him play again.
If more players start retiring early, I suspect we'll see the end of "guaranteed" money. Or, maybe not... these owners can't seem to help themselves.
The current collective bargaining agreement for the NFL expires after next season. It will be interesting to see if they get a new one without a strike, or lockout. I doubt it.
