37% of the NFL players come from 20 schools. I'm not sure what the # of potential schools might be but that's a pretty amazing fact. Also, USC used to be a lot higher on this list which helps explain why they haven't been as good in recent years.

1 out of every 8 NFL players comes from small college / champ division schools ( amazingly led by Harvard !)

Texas is a notable exception from this list. I'm pretty sure we were on it 5 years ago.
Mack's brain fart, and the LHN just destroyed our program. I HOPE we're back to national relevance. We're gonna find out nest Saturday. This is regular season now.. LSU won't be deflated by not being in the CFP. Horns had better be ready.
LSU @ Texas is a playoff game for both schools.

Actually, Bevo Texas was tied for 9th ( 29 players) just 3 years ago and had 32 players on the 2013 count for 5th best. I counted 22 Horns so just off the top 20.
Is the loser out in this playoff game or is it double elimination ? Where can I find the 'playoff' bracket ?

The loser's chances of making the CFP don't go to Zero, but... they'll be pretty close to it. Either team could run the table thereafter and still be at great risk of NOT being selected.
Funny.....I always believed you were smart enough to understand how it works?

I'm dumb. I'll never completely understand the great mythical system playoff. I'm trying to figure out how to watch the great playoff action of Georgia vs Murray State and Florida vs Tenn-Martin, not to mention Alabama vs NM State without missing any critical playoff moments. Maybe I'll invest in one of those multiple screen units so not to miss any playoff action. BTW in what division playoff are those first two games I mentioned ? I'm confused.

Those are irrelevant games played against irrelevant teams. Bama will have a playoff game coming up soon. I'll be sure to alert you I the days before they play. This week, there are several.. none bigger, IMO, than LSU @ Texas.

A playoff game "coming up soon " ? Do all the teams in this playoff system play the same number of playoff games ? Who decides who hosts these playoff games. ? Can you schedule your own playoff games ? and as many or few as you want ?

The more I look at the original data, the more incredible it is.
Do you realize that the difference between the SEC and the B1G (2nd Best) is BIGGER than the delta between the B1G and the rest of the P5.
That is simply unbelievable. Hen has destroyed his own mantra of SEC mediocrity.
I mean... wow

Of course... to bring hope to others, the NFL count is a lagging indicator of talent. It would be nice to see trends over the past 5 years. I bet the B1G is increasing.

Can you schedule your own playoff games ? and as many or few as you want ? Yes another 'playoff' question : so in this playoff system teams can play whoever they want including these 'irrelevant' games right in the middle of and the heat of the playoffs ? Do these irrelevant games count or are they literally irrelevant to advancing through the playoffs ? For example is Tennessee 0-0 in playoff relevancy or is Tennessee 0-1 ?

The rest of the sports world needs to catch on to and adopt this clever championship playoff format where playoff opponents can be custom scheduled and the number of playoff games played is an option for each team as well as location of the playoff games. And while some teams play relevant playoff games in some weeks of the playoff other teams can choose to play irrelevant games in the same weeks of the playoffs. As a favor to me can you guys who 'get' this playoff system please post the overall championship playoff bracket . The big picture ( playoff bracket) will help this dumb guy better understand this championship playoff system. Thanks
