Texas defense is anything but “tough” We reek I wouldn't say that...AND I think Texas is still alive for the playoff LSU's offense is playing at a very high level

Syracuse is realizing the reality of not having Dungey at QB. I stopped watching about the half and Cuse couldn’t tackle a Pop Warner player.
ETN might run for 300 against that defense. I hope Dabo goes into "leave no doubt" mode next week @ SYR.

I think it is reasonable based on the results to date. Pretty hard to keep Clemson out of number 1 LSU had the best win by far in a tough environment. They looked very good Maryland is averaging 70 points per game and scorched a ranked Syracuse team last week.
tOSU soundly beat UC who soundly beat UCLA a week earlier
Auburn win over Oregon should push them up considering Oregon put up 77 on Nevada. Wisconsin has looked great thus far. UGA beat Vandy by 25 same as Purdue. But Purdue lost to Nevada. Bama beat Duke but looked lethargic in the first half.
ttun should be way outside of the top 10.

Agree AJ. That "balls" comment was a compliment to Evil for actually considering 'merit'.

Agree AJ. That "balls" comment was a compliment to Evil for actually considering 'merit'. I took it that way. If Maryland switch schedules and results with Alabama. Alabama would still be number 2 and Maryland likely would not be ranked. UGA lost 3 games last year. Please somebody explain to me how they are ahead of Oklahoma, tOSU and LSU.

They almost beat Bama twice ?

Alabama would still be number 2 and Maryland likely would not be ranked. UGA lost 3 games last year. Please somebody explain to me how they are ahead of Oklahoma, tOSU and LSU. In the poll's defense:
Alabama was 14-1 last year, and lost to Clemson in the final. Then, they were either #1 or #2 in EVERY recruitment ranking. Maryland was 5-7 last year, and was #62 (Rivals) in recruiting. Georgia was also either #1 or #2 in virtually every recruiting ranking.
I think they've got Maryland and Bama in the correct order. UGA is still getting respect for being already a good team, and having perhaps the BEST recruitment class in the country.
The pollsters are not asked "Who has done the most this year". They're asked: "Who do you THINK has the better team?"
This early in the season, they don't have a lot to go on, and recruitment still has a pretty big impact on the opinions.
These are just GUESSES, after all. Positions change as the season goes on, and more evidence is produced ON the FIELD.
That's how I'd explain it. Still though, if I had a vote.. LSU would be #2.

Well at this point in the season, it is THE most impressive win out there Clemson and Auburn have impressive wins...and North Carolina and Hawaii have looked good

Wait till they're the team that has to play the day following an 8+ hour flight and look forward to the same flight immediately following the game...not to mention their time clock will be all screwed up - when Arizona and Oregon State played them it was like 3 am where they're from.
