The NFL just can't buy a break. They are trying SO HARD to build up some new "heroes", to bring back fan interest. The "Cowboys are Back", "Mahomies: Greatest EVER", "2019 Bears Defense: Best since '83"? But, injuries and bogus penalties keep getting in the way.
Mahomies is terrific, but... even he can be slowed by 350+ lb dudes stepping on his ankle. And, even the excitement he brings to the game can't break through the AWFULNESS of the inconsistent refereeing goin on in the NFL. It's just, impossible to watch anymore.
There are SO MANY INJURIES, that fantasy football is losing it's appeal. Fantasy is the ONLY Thing propping up the league. Even Pittsburg can't fill the stadium anymore.
The next bargaining round is going to be brutal.

Suggestion - switch over to the MLB playoffs. I think the intensity of these games and the critical nature of every single pitch provides post season sports drama..unsurpassed

I plan to listen to the game today, as I'm driving to St. Louis.

You have the HAVES and the HAVE NOTS and the differences are the people running the HAVES know what the hell they're doing and the people running the HAVE NOTS are clueless. The 2 biggest culprits are Mike Brown and Daniel Snyder - they get what they deserve and that's 0-5 football teams with little to no hope. Miami is the same way. And the thing about Cincinnati is they have so many issues it would take someone who knows what they're doing several years to fix that mess - with Mike Brown leading the charge I think the situation is hopeless. They could get the first pick in the draft next year and the only thing they'll accomplish is ruining the first picks career.

I did not watch a single snap of the NFL this weekend and I don't see that trend changing much. The NFL players taking a knee during the anthem was a huge turnoff for me especially when you have so many out there fight for this country. Each year I seem to watch less and less and at this point with the Bengals being so bad my viewership is almost non existent.

The last time I checked the Saints had no one kneeling for the Anthem. I sure hope they continue that trend. I feel pretty much the same as you.

The next bargaining round is going to be brutal. The NFL had a bowl of ice cream and had to decide between adding hot fudge, whipped cream and a cherry or dropping a big politically correct turd in the middle of it. I was not impressed with their decision. They are doing much better than I would like.

I was not impressed with their decision. They are doing much better than I would like. Well... to be fair, the PLAYERS were the ones to drop the Turd in the Sundae... (So many great puns there!) The NFL had to decide between; a) Pissing off their talent, or b)Pissing off their fans. They tried to split the difference. It hasn't worked. But, I actually think they've solved the Kneeling issue, on a nationwide basis, by NOT SHOWING it on TV. TV ratings have recovered. But, people attending the games can still see it. And, they're choosing not to attend. Is that because of the kneeling? Or, a result of a SHITTY product. SO MANY bad team, playing BAD games... TOO MANY teams, with not enough talent. Quality of play is WAY down.

I have to tune in every week to see what kind of trouble little, Andy Dalton can get himself into this time.

Besides the: -horrible flag fests -stupid political issues (kneeling & Colin Kaepernick) -ref-assisted Patriot dynasty -insanely spoiled players
...besides all of these factors, and probably more I didn't even list, the NFL product seems stale.
There are good rivalries, but there are some regional rivalries that get ignored.
The TV schedule sucks horribly too... As a college football fan, I know I'll have access to the major games every Saturday. You literally get to see over 20+ games
The NFL doesn't necessarily showcase it's best games...it relies on this old formula that has been going on for decades... The local market game, plus two more afternoon games, plus Sunday night. And then the Monday night game which tries to cash in on rivalries instead of the top teams. Their NFL Gameday package is incredibly expensive. The preseason is too long and a drag
The playoff should be expanded to 14...get rid of the byes
Let the teams play too...no more flag fests
