Conference Champs with 8-game league schedule: • 13 out of 13 made Playoff
Conference Champs with 9-game league schedule: • 6 out of 15 made Playoff
Simply put, the 9-game slate significantly HURTS Playoff chances for a league.

Common knowledge - Cowardice pays ( in this system). Good factoid, cpa Cowardice or being smart? Both can be true at the same time.

I can't knock Clemson because they obviously try to schedule quality OOC teams - Texas A+M and South Carolina are respectable programs. Playing teams like WCU, Georgia State, Wofford, Coastal Carolina, etc. - you're buying wins. I wasn't happy with OSU's OOC schedule this season, typically they'll play an in-state team and a bigger name school - next year it's Oregon. But they had two teams (Tennessee and TCU) back out of contracts so they ended up playing 2 in state schools and FAU. Next year will be a bigger challenge in Eugene, Oregon.
