I thought Ohio State looked like the dominant team for the majority of the game, They just let Trevor Lawrence drive the field too easy in that last 3 minutes
I sort of thought Ohio State should have gone for it on 4th and 4...the play where the punter charged up real fast. If they go for it there and get a TD, they would have gone up 30-21
What a game

Everything we thought it would be - tough, physical, exciting Either team could have won it and would have deserved it

That was a real shaky tageting call that changed momentum as well. It looked like Lawrence lowered his head in which case.....what is the safety supposed to do? If that wasn’t targeting, they should just stop calling it. It was a good call.

Yep, if you lower the helmet on a QB, it's gonna get called. Hats of to Clemsom. It looked to like for large stretches Ohio State actually had this game in control, their inability to finish drives and playing not to lose, instead of playing to win cost them.

Likewise, great game from the Bucks. I said OSU would give Venables a fit, and Day and his staff proved that last night. Well coached and scouted by OSU.

I think the loss of Dobbins for the middle part of the game took away some of the aggressiveness that was working so well. OSU was having success with the hurry-up, aggressive attack. Then, they went away from it. LSU NEVER goes away from it... not ever. That is what has made them so incredible this year. That's a bad sign for Clemson.

One of the only times I first guessed coach Day all season, was when he threw a conservative bubble screen in 3 and 5 on Clemson's side of the field with 3:30 left. I thought he should have attacked downfield and attempted to end the game then. I didn't want to give the ball back to Clemson and Trevor Lawrence, ultimately that came back to bite them. This will sting a while as this was one of my favorite Buckeye teams....and they were good enough to win a natty this year, ultimately you can make the mistakes they made against a team of Clemsons caliber.

Was that the drive where they had 4th and 4, and they rushed the punter up to draw Clemson offside? I totally thought they should have gone for it right there. If they make it, drive down and score, they would have gone up 30-21....game over Clemson had a lot of luck in this game, besides Trevor's legs

Burrow is the only QB playing at the same level as Trevor Lawrence. Superior QB play has been Clemson’s trump card in big games. We can’t expect it in this coming National Championship. That’s not because Lawrence isn’t great, it’s just that Burrow is nearly perfect. He had 493 passing yards and 7 passing TDs along with a rushing TD. Sure, OU’s defense is mediocre, but it’s not 8 touchdown mediocre. That would be impressive against Charlotte, let alone a playoff team. Justin Fields and Jalen Hurts are great, but Burrow and Lawrence are in another tier. LSUs D had their early season struggles, most notably in a shootout against Texas and a letdown game (post-Alabama) against Ole Miss, but they’ve been locked in lately. They held Heisman runner-up, Jalen Hurts to 15-31 passing with no TDs and an INT. Their defense isn’t as good as Ohio States (thank goodness), but it is solid and their passing game is far more explosive.
