The G5 needs to get together to matchup their champs (excluding the NY6 team chosen of course, which would be AAC champ Memphis this year. Boise State vs. Appalachian State would be a great matchup. Instead, App State goes to the....
New Orleans Bowl: Appalachian State vs. UAB Sun Belt Champ App State plays UAB, big loser in the C-USA Championship game. It's an ok opponent for App State. Not bad bowl watching as the Mountaineers are pretty good. This game could be a blow out though
Military Bowl: North Carolina vs. Temple Temple is a decent American team, and we'll get to see Mac Brown's Tarheels in action. Should be a decent game
Pinstripe Bowl: Wake Forest vs. Michigan State I think this is one of the first P5 matchups where we'll get to measure the P5 conferences against each other. Wake Forest was one of the better ACC teams, and was in contention for the Orange Bowl till they fumbled on the hard part of their schedule. Michigan State was pretty mediocre in the top conference this year. Should be interesting to see how they matchup.

Well, I will be in New Orleans this coming weekend, eating too much and drinking too much and pulling for my Mountaineers to win their 5th straight bowl game.
GO APPS!!!

I still wish the APPS were hosting a national semi-final

If I were the G5. I would take all of the conference champs. Send the best one to the NY6 exhibitions. Have the other 4 play a G5 playoff.

I've got an even better idea than that. Hijack the post season from the cartel and ESPN and give it to the governing body of the sport....which, in turn, will offer a 16 team, all inclusive, on field , competition based national championship playoff...
Consisting of 10 conference champions plus 6 'at large' selections. It will take 15 total games, 4 weekends, and yield a real national champion. Nothing to it....and the teams not making the playoff can still pair up and play mid winter vacation exhibition games if they choose.

Correction: It will yield a tournament champion. #16 shouldn't be anywhere near #1. Anything beyond 8 is just silly. No one outside top 8 can legitimately claim NC. IMO, we don't need anything beyond 4. Do you believe going to a 16 team playoff format will answer the arguments of who should be in and who shouldn't. No...….we are just expanding the goal posts of where the arguments are from the 5th placed team to the 17th place team in an environment that is more predictable than basketball is.... Proof: Try being 32nd ranked NC State when 17-15 unranked Iona got in as the 202nd ranked team. That's right.....202nd. And you are ranked 32nd and can't get in the field of 68.

Going to an all inclusive championship playoff for the NCAA FBS simply means just that and nothing more or nothing less - a college football championship open to the entire division, not just a small elite club of TV friendly name brands, and it would have nothing to do with all that "ranked, ranked, ranked, ranked" " mythical crap you hang your hat on , cpa....you know, kind of like all other NCAA team sports do it including football and how all team sports , worldwide, do it.

Then that's not enough of a reason to expand ….just to be "inclusive". Right now you have a "CFP or bust" mentality, and that's good for focus and the sport. Every game means something.

The single biggest myth in all of sports - 'Every ( CF ) game means something'.
Why are you afraid of giving every champion a shot ?

The single biggest myth in all of sports - 'Every ( CF ) game means something'. Why are you afraid of giving every champion a shot ? Nobody's afraid of it. Is Alabama afraid of playing San Diego State? Nope. It's unnecessary. SDST has no legitimate claim on the #1 ranking.

The single biggest myth in all of sports - 'Every ( CF ) game means something'. well.. you got THAT right. Should be: ALL FBS P5 Conference games mean something. All the other CF games mean nothing.

O'l vintage Bevo there . There are what ?... about 50 NCAA CF conferences out there and about 550 teams and only the games of the top ranked 15 or 20 TV teams count and mean anything. About 90 % of all CF players and coaches would probably like to punch you in the nose, Bevo' Hey, Merry Christmas to Bevo and all the Cartel worshippers..... errrr lovers

only the games of the top ranked 15 or 20 TV teams count and mean anything. In the grand scheme of things, yes.. absolutely correct. I think my own fantasy team is important.. it is, to ME. But, not in any real, practical way to anyone other than me, and the 11 people I defeated. Pretty much the same way with FCS, and the G5, and more than half of the P5.
