The ‘if’ game can go both ways. If the refs call targeting/roughing the QB on the 4th down incomplete pass on the goal line OSU probably scores with a fresh set of downs and it’s not so close. Also, Fields had his worst game as a Buckeye and OSU’s offense kind of shut it down when they went up 35-7 and they still had over 600 yards of offense. The DB’s have to play better. I also think they need to run Fields on some RPO’s to limit the blitzing on passes. It was nice to see Teague have a solid game - the offense can score 40+ points in their sleep but defense needs to improve. I’m a little disappointed in the pass rush - we were really spoiled with Young and the Bosas. Zach Harrison was supposed to be the next stud but haven’t seen that yet.

Agree that the ifs go both ways. The targeting call was blatant and just a huge miss by the referees. Also the fumble Indiana had that was not reviewed early on. Indiana certainly got more benefits from the refs compared to the Buckeyes. Ohio State out-gained IU by 100 yards and held them to negative rushing yards. That being said, I feel Ohio State was fortunate to get out with the W. I also think IU is an extremely good team. I bet they put a beating on Wisconsin when they get them.

I hope IU wins out at this point.

Ohio State fans upset with officiating. A tale as old as the sea.

This wasn’t called targeting - compare this to the hit called last year in favor of Trevor Lawrence and Clemson....

Absolutely no excuse for missing that call. I hate the way this penalty is called and it certainly cost us the game against Clemson and change the outcome to Indiana from a relatively easy 14 point win down to a nail biter.
Watching the selection show last night they pretty much concluded that Clemson deserved to be ahead of Ohio State largely because of Ohio State giving up nearly 500 passing yards to Indiana. They also claimed that Clemson has beaten everyone soundly with the exception of the Notre Dame game. They also conclude that Alabama is the clear cut number one team.
What they failed to mention is: Clemson actually has a loss Clemson barely beat a 4 - 4 BC by 6 points Ohio States beat an undefeated Inidiana team that was ranked in the top 10 (and deserve to be there) In the Ohio State win over Indiana they held them to negative rushing yards. Alabama gave up of 600 yards in a narrow win to Ole Miss in a pretty tight game
