tOSU was banned from a bowl that esssentially cost them a national championship because 5 players exchange memorabilia for tatoos? Tennessee had been charged with 18 Level 1 violations -- the most severe in the NCAA rules structure -- in July 2022. Included among the more than 200 infractions were charges of $60,000 in impermissible benefits and both Pruitt and his wife, Casey, making cash payments to players' families. However they NCAA will be collecting 9 M from Tennessee.

They actually caught the head FB coach & wife of giving 6k in cash to a recruit's mom. Then the wife paid 1600 in cash for a rental deposit. And another recruit 3k in an envelope. Great job UT...
Down 28 scholarships.

Lol. No. It was Spurrier.
That, or something close to it.

Whats even worse is the media coverage!!!! If you didn’t believe ESPN was in bed with the SEC before think about this….. the Ohio State 5 infamous for receiving free tattoos was front page news for weeks for ESPN……no one heard of the allegations against Tennessee until the NCAA released their ruling against them and it was brushed over.

I don’t see the problem. We all agree that it just means more in the SEC. We also agree on the capitalism model that punishment should be proportional to earnings. Punishing an SEC team would hurt ESPN/ABC/Disney profits, i.e. stealing.
Has Ohio State considered joining the SEC? Or is this just a complaint without exploring an option to join a conference where it just means more?

Your complaint loses all validity when you take into account when you consider the Big Ten is the richest conference….. so going off the capitalism model Aufan is wrong

The Big Ten has a pretty healthy lead in front of the SEC in terms of revenue….. I knew that before I had to search…..but The Big and SEC are the two biggest money-making conferences….but Aufan according to your argument it would make more sense to protect the Big Ten team lol. I get you were being sarcastic but I also doubt you knew the Big Ten generates more money than the SEC by a decent margin

Though it seems that the SEC has better corporate partners. Good to be partnered with Mickey Mouse. Mickey understands that it just means more. If Ohio State feels disadvantaged by their current situation, and brings in significant revenue, maybe they should consider a different corporate sponsor? They have the leverage.

Tennessee sleaze lineage goes back to coach Fulmer. His academic fraud was so comical. He'd bring in these illiterates who had to have tutors write their papers and when they were about to become academically ineligible their grades , magically, got changed. Remember faculty whistle blower Linda Bensel Meyers ( or something like that )...got violent threats for reporting that stuff. And do you remember the annual 'FULMER CUP" awards ? Can't remember the media source that awarded it but it was awarded to the CF program that best attained the Phil Fulmer standards of fraud and sleaze for that season.

Alabama was penalized for sharing text books with financially challenged fellow students. Not a single dollar was involved.

Of course, the NCAA has no problem whatsoever about flexing its legal muscle to ensure we have penises in womens' locker rooms, but for 18 Level 1 violations and over 200 violations in total, nah, better let sleeping dogs lie. The Tennessee Attorney General threatened to sue the NCAA on a class action by UT football players.
