Despite the last few National Championships, I thought this run and title were the best yet for Bama. Nick Saban pulled out all the stops to secure victory...I think this title was the best earned. I've never seen Alabama's defense that tired...Clemson was a hell of an opponent, and there's no question these were the two best teams this year. Great game. IMO, the playoff has had two great years and is a huge success You can argue Alabama already had a dynasty going, but this solidifies it...This Alabama team was just gritty and tough to beat, like trying to catch a fish with your bare hands. Great win for Alabama, and Clemson shouldn't feel too bad either....While they didn't win last night, I think Dabo and the Tigers are here to stay, and could make another run next year Unfortunately now, the season's over....time for me to begin my yearly "no more college football" depression

My hot take:
1) The big winners were the ones who took the over. :-)
2) Saban's in-game coaching is evident - he sensed the game momentum slipping away and called the onside kick, which worked perfectly.
3) Clemson probably wins this game if Alexander doesn't go down. Bama had 5 big / explosive plays, 2 of which probably get shut down with Alexander in the game.
Excellent game of continual body blows. No cheap hits / penalties.
PAC 12 refs are usually good for some chaos, luckily it was limited to some game clock mismanagement and end of 1H.

I don't think I've ever seen an offense really have Alabama on their heels like that.

8 on offense, including getting our #1 WR Mike Williams back. He broke his neck on the first series of the year against Wofford, when he hit the goalpost.
We lose Peake (WR), MacLain and Gore off the line. Everybody else is back.
The offense will be scary good again next year. No reason Watson should get another 4k / 1k and be the Heisman fave.
On defense, it depends on early departures. Shaq Lawson has already said he's gone, but some rumors from late last night say he maybe has changed his tune.
Dodd most likely gone after his performance last night as well. He absolutely destroyed Bama's RT all night long.
In the 2ndary, Alexander graded high, but some NFL guys have him in the 3rd/4th, not 1st round.
Kearse (S) has given shitty effort since the GT game, and has hurt his draft stock significantly. He half-assed all night last night, especially on the KR for a TD. Greene, who gave up 21 points to Bama, also says he's going too, but he and Kearse are both very raw and would do well to come back.
Both could take a lesson in heart and commitment from Shaq.

Home games : 'Ville, NCST, Syr, and Pitt rotates in from the coastal and MIA drops off.
Roadies: FSU, GT, Wake , BC
Not terrible, but the road to the ACCCG runs thru Tally.

Clemson has a stain on its football legacy.
Marshall owns Clemson. The Herd is undefeated vs. the Tigers. And, there will be no opportunity in the foreseeable future for Clemson to regain its honor.

Bowden's first game at Clemson. Missed 3 FGs including a chip shot to tie.
The 1990-2008 years were a very dark period in between force awakenings.

We should have this thread pinned lol...it is old, from early 2016
Remember back in the 2000s when the sports media lauded over the mini-dynasties of USC and Miami FL? Those were extremely short compared to what Alabama is doing
Combined national championships of those Dynasties? 2.5 championships, which includes the title USC got stripped of. And that .5 championship USC got from the AP in 2003? The Trojans share that with Saban
Saban now stands at a total of 6 Championships, 5 with Alabama
This is what a real dynasty looks like

Just don't forget the 'mythical' regarding these type 'championships'.

I thought Saban's QB change in this most recent Championship game was one of the gutsiest moves I've ever seen a coach make. Balls of steel.

These Championships are real... despite your best efforts to throw stones.
You remind me of a boy shooting spitwads at a battleship.

A voted/opinion semi-final is not 'real' Bevo. It's...well, strictly opinionated . Do you watch or follow any team sports championships around Earth at all levels in which the final four are determined by actual post season elimination competition ??. Try it. You might like it.
