Well, I guess I’m the odd man out here: I don’t see a problem with this at all. I don’t think the NCAA should have ANY rules against sign stealing. It should be up to the people holding up all the ridiculous signs to figure out a way to fool anyone looking at them.
I mean…. This is still a free country, right? If you’re going to signal plays in from the sideline,I should be free to read them and try to figure out the meaning.
Frankly, I’m sick of all these gimmicky, hurry up offenses. They are the ones trying to get an advantage with trickery.
Leave it to the NCAA to enact rules against freedom and human nature.

They are the ones trying to get an advantage with trickery. Leave it to the NCAA to enact rules against freedom and human nature. The problem is that there are rules in place that all teams have to follow. When ttun decided to cheat, it gave them a huge advantage and likely had impacts on the game the past 2 seasons. If ttun gets a slap on the wrist then we might as well do the same thing. Why not take it a step further and maybe we start paying the officials under the table to make sure they call the game the correct way.

Paying officials would be obvious corruption.
Looking with your eyes, or even cameras in a PUBLIC game seems fair to me. Shouldn’t BE a rule against that.
Now, if they hacked practice videos (which I heard) or sneaked into practices, I’d have an issue. But, getting clues from a public game ? How is that different from watching game film? Is that also banned by the NCAA?

I heard UM revoked the cheater’s contract extension That has to hurt. I’ve heard Tennesee has joined in the allegations against Michigan claiming Michigan sent tapes to South Carolina prior to the Volga playing the Gamecocks last year….. in an attempt to manipulate whom they would be facing in the playoff…… if true Michigan is going to get hammered. That’s manipulating the spirit of competition right there….. actually trying to give one team an advantage because you don’t think you can beat the vols. Now Tennessee gave up 63 points to South Carolina, so I’m not sure how much stealing sings on the offensive side would have mattered…… but maybe defensive too?

At the end of the day both of these actions are clear violations of NCAA rules. Both of the actions can significantly alter the outcome of a game. Since 2021 ttun is 33-3. During this strectch they had a loss to UGA. I don't know if they were cheating as it appeared that early on it was primarily B1G games. Also they lost to TCU who was aware of the ttun cheating tactics. TCU decided to use an alternate signal scheme while keeping the current scheme with dummy calls. The year prior to that they were 2 - 4 and could not implement this scheme as there were no fans permitted. So how many games did ttun win because of cheating? Not sure but I am 100% certain that it had a significant impact on the outcome during many of these games.
