That sounds like Obama actually connected the wires himself - maybe the that's what trump meant, in plain English? Ordered the wire tapping. The interview you quoted absolved Obama of any knowledge, much less participation, much less directing. If true, then Trump lied. Yes, an interview that involves 2nd or 3rd hand information.

You were the source of the interview.

Trump's self-imposed deadline is March 29: "At his daily briefing on Tuesday, White House press secretary Sean Spicer declined to say when or whether President Trump will present evidence for the claim that he was wiretapped by his predecessor, Barack Obama. In an interview with Fox News’ Tucker Carlson on March 15, Trump promised “some very interesting items coming to the forefront over the next two weeks” when he was asked about the claim." www.yahoo.com/news/white-house-wont-say-if-trump-will-present-proof-of-wiretapping-194427580.html

Freshman Congressman pulls the mask off Comey: www.youtube.com/embed/HlXXZQgh72Y?version=3&rel=1&fs=1&autohide=2&showsearch=0&showinfo=1&iv_load_policy=1&wmode=transparent
The uncomfortable aspect to this line of inquiry is Comey’s transparent knowledge of the politicized Office of the DNI James Clapper by President Obama. Clapper was used rather extensively by the Obama Administration as an intelligence shield, a firewall or useful idiot, on several occasions.
Anyone who followed the Obama White House intel policy outcomes will have a lengthy frame of reference for DNI Clapper and CIA Director John Brennan as the two primary political operatives. Brennan admitted investigating, and spying on, the Senate Intelligence Committee as they held oversight responsibility for the CIA itself.

The biggest news of the day also came from Comey:
Comey disclosed to Congress was that the Russians did not provide WikiLeaks HIllary’s campaign manager John Podesta’s emails.
Anyone who was halfway interested in the election in the fall of 2016 knows that this is a big lie in so many ways, but specifically because the MSM totally ignored WikiLeak’s dump of Podesta emails before the election.
The MSM did not share Podesta’s emails before the election and now the head of the FBI just announced that the Russians did not give these emails to WikiLeaks.
This confirms what WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange said in November – that his group did not get emails related to Hillary Clinton’s campaign from a “state actor.”
It was always a Democrat-created fallacy.

It was the obviously right answer to the obviously wrong question. Of course the Russians didn't furnish Podesta's emails to Wikileaks, just as they didn't provide the DNC emails to Wikileaks. Putin is not that stupid. The proper question to Comey would have been: "Has the FBI ruled out that the Russian government was the originating source of the Podesta and DNC emails that were furnished to Wikileaks?"

Nunes confirms Trump transition / team members were under surveillance.
So it sounds like there was a wire tap, or at least a "wire tap."

Question: Why wouldn’t the DNC allow the FBI to examine the ‘hacked’ server?
Answer: Because the server was never hacked.
Faked Hacking morphed into the 24/7 spewing of the Russians hacked / influenced /stole the election for the evil Trump.
I argued back in July that the Crowdstrike story was a bunch of unsubstantiated drivel. The author (former Russian hacker) made all kinds of claims of prior knowledge of the hackers without backing them up. Conveniently, the hackers had names like FANCY BEAR and "had to be" Russian, but he supplied no supporting evidence. Even more surreal now to listen to Comey saying he was using the Crowdstrike ramblings as evidence. Even after a congressman pointed out the inadmissability of hearsay (in another context). The Crowdstrike blog post is all the evidence the FBI needs apparently.

Evidence that neither you nor I are likely to ever see, but which is totally available to Trump at any time.
