In the words of CJH :"All 130 0-0 records should have exact equal value in pre-season" Who said they didn't?

tigercpa for one, who is among a (presumably) large number who believe that a team, UCF for example, should be substantially adjudged based upon the performance of previous teams.
I asked, but didn’t get an answer as to why didn’t this standard didn’t apply to 1999 Marshall, which had a 37-4 record and 3 conference championships over the previous 3 seasons?

If you are conducting pre-season polling, previous performance will necessarily be one factor in the decision making. Why is this concept so hard to understand? Ignore the assertion that pre-season polls are silly or stupid....they have proven to be of value and have been reasonably accurate. I understand that some may not like / don't want pre-season polls; nonetheless, they are a feature of the sport.
You are assuming it didn't apply.
Perhaps it was applied but was discarded in favor of other metrics?

I agree that the performances of the RETURNING players from the prior season’s team should be a major factor in the PRESEASON polls. I cannot, as you have suggested with UCF, agree that the performances of teams from previous seasons should be a factor in the polls this deep into the season.
