Post your recruiting tidbits in this thread.
Offensive Tackle 2018 prospect Jordan McFadden has decided to de-commit from the Virginia Tech Hokies and commit to the Clemson Tigers. The long drought, the lack of commitments is over. McFadden becomes the 12th member of the Clemson recruiting class.
McFadden comes from down the road to Clemson at Dorman High School, in SPartanburg, which has produced many Clemson players over the years. Jordan is ranked as a composite 3* player....probably should be higher.
He is exactly the kind of prospect that VT recruits who is undervalued, but beats and plays above their rank when all is said and done. VT was not happy when we locked in on McFadden—they knew they had a good player and fought to keep him.
Clemson is also looking at Cade Mays (6-5, 318; Knoxville TN) and Jackson Carman (6-6, 330; Fairfield OH).
Carman is probably a 90% OSU Buckeye at this point. I know Clemson pulled out all the stops for his visit...Smoking Pig was had, President Clements was present and visible. It is going to take a lot to push that needle but I am glad we are taking a full swing at it.
Mays has de-committed from TN, with all of the chaos - I think it's Clemson or UGA for him.

CPA - one of the big ones left on Ohio State's wish list is Jackson Carman, a behemoth of an offensive lineman from Cincinnati - top player in Ohio. In addition to Ohio State, Clemson and USC appear to be his top 3 - I know he really enjoyed his visit to Clemson, not sure if he's gone to USC yet. We hope he winds up at Ohio State but if Clemson gets him, he's a beast. He has a team mate named Malik Vann, a weakside DE, who is committed to Cincinnati and I heard OSU may be looking his way as a potential package deal for Carman. Plus OSU just had a 5 star DE decommit so they need to pick up one elsewhere. Vann is listed as a 3 star.

A new experience for Marshall. Doc Holliday has historically secured his top recruits very late in the process.

Carman will be a very good RT in the college game, but will probably move inside to RG in the NFL.

Alabama had three recruits recently. One is a DB who started at LSU and went the juco route.

Buckeyes landed a 4 star receiver, Kamryn Babb, and a 4 star DL from Idaho whose name I can't spell. Pretty good day yesterday!

I feel like teams should take 3 OL every year, minimum. 2Ts and one G.
OL is the hardest position to recruit. Blcoking schemes, especially pass blocking, are difficult and you don't know how these kids will react when they are asked to put on 15-30 lbs, or more. Will they be ale to keep their footwork, speed, leverage and agility?
Look at all the "elite" OL FSU recruited recently that turned out to be nothing more than turnstiles and let Francois get eaten alive.

We already have several commits. O-Line, especially... It was a problem all year this year.

The UGA staff didn't feel Watson could really play QB in college, so they offered him a scholarship, at WR... Ohio State recruited Ben Roethlisberger as a tight end. They ended up with Craig Krenzel who did win a national championship but I think Ben has proven he can play QB. (not a big fan of Ben since he plays for Pittsburgh and should be in jail for sexually assaulting that woman out in Tahoe but he went to Miami which is about 20 miles away from Cincinnati.

Johnny Manziel had the Longhorn logo tattooed over his heart, and still Texas didn't even consider him, for ANY position. Despite being a complete trailer trash fruitcake, he was a decent college QB.

At this point. OSU, Bama and Clemson don't recruit, they select.
