Sorry Hero, going undefeated and destroying Miami wasn't enough FSU was the real National Champs in 1992...per who? The highly respected Jeff Sagarin FSU has a total of eight championships per various bodies lol it's interesting seeing all the different annoited champs out there: www.liveabout.com/college-football-national-champions-791518Don't worry though, I think someone honored Alabama as the 2016 champs, despite losing to Clemson USC also has a 2002 share of the title

Counting all the different groups naming NCs BAMA would probably have 30.
If FSU had beaten the Canes they would have probably played BAMA. That said, that was one of my favorite wins of all time.

If there was an NCAA D1 national championship in 1992 I think FSU would have been a slight betting favorite. Bama, ND, Mich and Miami could have made bracket runs.

Looking back at '92, I think it was pretty clear cut that Bama was the best team. One of the few years where you had a clear cut champ Miami lost to Bama, Nebraska lost to FSU, FSU lost to Miami, Notre Dame lost to somebody lol

Would have been fun to find out. Team A losing to team B doesn't mean it would lose to team C. Got to have a championship playoff to really know.
