Yes.. the offense played well, despite having only ONE scholarship RB on the team. Yes... The defense tackled well.. in the few times they got close enough to an LSU player to touch them.
But, this was a game that a team who "is BACK" MUST win. This was one more reminder that, we're just not at the same level, talent-wise, as the TOP teams in the country.
I can't believe Ingram dropped that pass in the end zone. The kid has NEVER dropped a pass as a Longhorn. 30-0. But, in the BIGGEST game, at a crucial time, he did.
I was cool with the 4th down decision and play on that possession. The 2nd time, I thought we should have kicked a FG, and I HATED the play call. Those decisions, I believe, were an admission by Hermann that our defense was NOT going to be able to stop LSU.
And, defense.... sigh... yes, losing 6 starters hurts. It's going to be a tough year on Defense.
