I'm really starting to hate this virus, and the hysteria that has come with it.
It looks like it's going to ruin what was shaping up to be an AWESOME Kentucky Derby experience. I had three really close business friends coming as guests. Now? I'm not sure ANY of them will be able to come.
Plus, MamaBevo and I are supposed to go on a cruise out of Miami on April 18. That surely looks in doubt now. I can only hope the mass hysteria has subsided by then. But, I rather doubt it.
This virus is spreading EVERYWHERE... all over the globe. There's no stopping it. At best, we can only slow it down and hope the warmer weather kills it off, at least for a while. But, on the flip side, 85% of the people getting it will have "very mild, or even NO symptoms". Really, that's the 'official' story. Unless you're 70+, with a bad heart or asthma, or some other serious condition, it isn't much of a threat.
What IS a threat is: the panic that is setting in and the major disruption it's going to cause.
Anyone remember the "swine flu pandemic" in 2009?
www.cdc.gov/flu/pandemic-resources/2009-h1n1-pandemic.html
"From April 12, 2009 to April 10, 2010, CDC estimated there were 60.8 million cases (range: 43.3-89.3 million), 274,304 hospitalizations (range: 195,086-402,719), and 12,469 deaths (range: 8868-18,306) in the United States due to the (H1N1)pdm09 virus."
12,469 deaths. How many Corona deaths to date in the US? 17? Plus, maybe a few from a cruise ship?

I remember the swine flu being covered in the media, but it was NOTHING like the hysteria that we're seeing now.
What was the difference? Hmnnnn…… what could it be?
Oh well... I'm not worried anymore about catching this and giving it to my grand-daughters. More likely, it will be the other way round. But, I'm healthy as a horse. A Clydesdale.
As best I can tell, this is going to be very bad news for hospitals and old people. And, it's going to be a FANTASTIC opportunity for anyone with a little (or, a lot) cash to put into the market when it bottoms. Otherwise, I'm not too worried.
