I'm no medical expert, and I've never lived through a "pandemic" But I imagine 3 key stats would be: -Mortality rate -Recovery rate -Hospital capacity So far these three stats are practically non-existant factors...so what does that tell you about this demon virus? Ask the folks in Italy if those factors are non-existent.... Not gonna lie the 7% Italian Mortality rate scares the hell outta me.....France also has a higher percentage of people under 60. Looks like its gonna be alot of fishing, jesus(Church), and reading for me for a while....plus the wife and I have so much to work on with our house that even if there was no pandemic we'd be taking it easy for a few weeks

What scares me about Italy is: It's the first western country to really have out of control spread and believable data.

And, at least half of those days were doubles. Of course, I was 24, and she was 19. So.... it wasn't that tough. Before we married, an older friend of mine told me: "For the first year, every time you make love, put a bean in a jar. After the first year, take a bean OUT every time... You'll NEVER empty the jar". I ran the numbers.... He was wrong. But, if I'd put the beans in for TWO years, maybe? LOL "Corona Babies"... I guarantee the maternity wards will have an uptick 9 months from now.

To me, this one is very different because people can be a carrier of this virus for many days without showing any symptoms. If this virus would get into the assisted living home that my parents live in then it would likely take out the majority of the residence. I don't see any issue playing the tournaments with no fans in the stands but it is what it is. One thing for sure is that 2 month from now the media will say we either over reacted or under reacted but until that time comes no one knows for sure. For sure, nursing homes and elderly care facilities need to be on strict lock down. Their residents are truly threatened. We should be doing EVERYTHING possible to make sure anyone coming in or out are tested, and kept away if exposed. I agree with you: It should be fine to hold these sporting events, just without the hordes of fans. The players are NOT at risk. The purpose of thinning the crowds is simply to slow the spread. What frustrates me to no end is, Our society's complete lack of ability to understand, or deal with virtually ANY issue that encompasses "risk management". Everyone gravitates to one side or the other (It's catastrophic, or it's a hoax). Sensibility flies out the window. It isn't helped at all by our media, that purposely HYPES everything, to get clicks and eyeballs. Yesterday, I watched Fauci's press conference. He was drawn into a discussion of the way testing is being done. He was making the case (unartfully) that the overly regulated protocol for testing was a "system failing".... He didn't say, "Our health system is failing". What are the headlines on Drudge today? 'SYSTEM FAILING", and "CDC ONLY TESTS 77 PEOPLE!!!" After a CHANGE in regulation pushed by Trump 10 days ago, testing is now being allowed in private labs and hospitals. They are now doing THOUSANDS and more are coming. It's actually GOOD NEWS that the CDC is not doing very many anymore. And yet, people get panicked by FAKE headlines. A year later. I stand by these comments

It is amazing so many good common sense ideas add an election and a bunch of politicians and you get a fiasco.

Fauci grasping at straws here.
He realizes that 2020 was the best year of his life, and if the 'Rona hysteria goes away, Fauci goes away - back to oblivion.
Gotta keep the hype up to stay on TV.
