Man... the Doom & Gloom crowd are out in full force today on CNBC.
Ray Dalio, a guy worth $18+ Billion, is on TV saying our financial system is crashing and we're heading into the 1930's, and.. there is NO PLACE to hide.
From the beginning of this virus crisis, I have been afraid that the "cure" was going to be worse for us than the disease.
Dalio has a book (Free on Kindle) called "Principle for Navigating Big Debt Crises". I've been reading it for a few days. Scariest thing I've read in quite a long time.

I've learned from past experiences to avoid the news during times like these. The night Desert Storm began I was in Charleston, WV for work. There was no way I was sitting in a hotel room watching war coverage all night long so I went to a movie - Dances With Wolves. Since I cant go to movies now I'll probably just catch up all the shows I've wanted to watch.

In just about a week, we have transformed from a free capitlistic society into a complete government run society there is absolutely no resistance to this crisis response, no one in the media or govt asking if this is really the right response basically, this reponse is "the virus might kill a lot of people, so let's shut it all down" ...and if you really want to start worrying, I have read that some stores aren't selling guns or ammo anymore

Hell, I'd even prefer watching Bahgdad Bob on CNN than that crappy movie.

Have you made the BIG MOVE? Which BIG move? I didn't sell anything.... I did, yesterday, sell a little NVIDIA and APPLE to buy ETP at $3.75. Couldn't help myself. ETP is a cash generating machine. They aren't going anywhere. $3.75 is below book value. My son had me in 40% cash at the end of the year. He put half of that back in the market yesterday. He wanted to put it ALL in. I told him to wait until Monday. We'll see.

goodfellas is one of those movies that when I'm channel surfing and see it's on, I have to watch it through to the end. Both Godfathers I and II are that way. (I've never seen Godfather III).
Unforgiven My Cousin Vinny Mr. Smith Goes To Washington Wizard of Oz
And there are many others. I watched Sergeant York for the first time over the weekend. I kept thinking the girl who played Gary Cooper's younger sister looked very familiar and it turned out she was June Lockhart at 16 years old, well before she owned Lassie or was Lost in Space.

I haven't seen that movie in years. Might have to put it on the schedule. "Stoppers" for me are: Braveheart Forgetting Sarah Marshall Wedding Crashers Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (My wife HATES, HATES this movie... for some reason, I just get fixated on it) ANYTHING with Bill Murray

I haven't seen Forgetting Sarah Marshall but I'm sure we have it somewhere in the house so I'll have to watch when there's nothing to do - like over the next month or two! I've always liked Kate Winslet but not so much with blue hair - did you see Little Children, talk about a disturbing movie - Kate gets nailed on the washing machine and that might be the most normal scene in the movie!

I haven't seen Forgetting Sarah Marshall but I'm sure we have it somewhere in the house lol FIND IT, and watch it. It will improve your mood. It's one of the funniest, most quotable movies ever made. Russell Brand is an IDIOT in real life, but his character in this movie is a CLASSIC! Be sure to watch the REAL movie, not an 'edited for TV' version.
