SUPPOSED to be starting this weekend... right after the NCAA BB Final Four weekend. What a shame... I don't know how I'm going to survive an April with no Masters. Rock bottom.

If this goes into football season - that will be rock bottom. We should be talking about how the refs screwed the losing team in the NCAA finals last night but instead all we can do is hope this ends sooner than later. Hang in there fellas. I'm going to post another list in another thread....

BTW, Bevo - if you want to root for something Texas affiliated there's a kid from Texas playing in the Jeopardy College Tournament - he won last night so he'll be in the semi-finals but that won't happen till next week. He pulled it out at the end with What is the Panama Canal?

I was surprised that the other two didn't get it?

The girl in first should have bet zero - with her total she would have probably been a shoo-in for a wildcard spot. Now she may have to sweat it out...

A sad time for all sports fans. Well I might as well keep on bitching about how the SEC referees high jacked the championship from the Buckeyes. I think I need an extension on my pledge to put that one behind me.

Living in Dayton, there were people literally in tears when the cancelled the tournament. They were robbed of most likely there only chance to claim a championship. My parents fall into that category as well as my dad graduated from UD. They now live in an assistant living facility in Miami County. They only had basic cable so I had to go over there for many games to set up there tv so they could watch it on the roku or computer. Remote tech support with parents over 80 is pretty challenging. Anyway, they are now confined to there room. I can go over there to drop off stuff but they need to stay inside and I am outside but at least we can talk. Crazy crazy times.

I was looking forward to watching Dayton play in this tourney. I haven't seen them all year. Thanks to this stupid virus, I had to watch the entire Houston vs NC State game from 1983 again... it was painful, still. Since I can't watch the Masters this year, I will be PLAYING in the Masters Tournament this weekend on my PS3 game... Tiger Wood's, Master's Edition. If I can figure out how to live stream it, I'll post it for you all. I GUARANTEE a Bevo victory. And, my player-character is HOT!

I grew up in Dayton, mentioned before I sold hot dogs and cokes at UD arena in high school. As a Xavier employee there was a pretty bitter rivalry between Dayton and X until the Muskies joined the Big East. But after the difficult year Dayton has had (tornado and Oregon District shooting) Flyer basketball was a way for the entire community to come together and celebrate. Then it was ripped away from them. Their coach and star player have swept all the awards but it's not the same as watching your team in the final four - it would have been something Flyer fans would revel in for years to come. I still recall when they went to the elite 8 in '84 and nearly beat UCLA in triple over time in '74.

They use to play every year then when you had all of the league swapping neither team supported the other to get into the current league that they were in. I think that is what led Xavier to join the Horizon for while. Now that Xavier is in the Big East they have not given any love to bring Dayton in the mix. They have a good thing going right now and their coach Anthony Grant is a Dayton grad and wants to be there. He put VCU on the Map prior to Shaka Smart era knocking out Duke in the first round of the tourney his first year. Then went to a Alabama and struggled a bit which I think that would be a tough place to be successful in hoops. The year before he got the job he would come to Dayton games and sit in the front row. It was his way of lobbying for the position. I don't see him leaving for any Power 5 job unless it is truly elite and the money is so good you can't say no.

I have granted myself an extension on my pledge until the first game of college football is played so that being the case HOW CAN YOU CATCH A BALL TAKE 3.5 STEPS BE AN REVERSAL FOR AN INCOMPLETE PASS.

All of the golf course are shut down in my county but one county over is open for business and they let you use carts. Each cart is cleaned and sanitized between usage. You pay through a window opened up to the outside of the clubhouse. They give you clorox wipes to further sanitize any thing on the cart. Each person gets there own cart. No flags. All holes are in the middle of the green. I was never a huge fan of playing golf but that has changed.
