Ok…. nobody here watched this show??
It really has been slow here.
This series might have been my favorite thing to see on TV, ever. Probably, just because of the timing of when it was shown. ie. in the middle of a DEARTH of sports.
What I liked most about it is: It OOZES testosterone! It's a man's man kind of show. It's antidote for 'The View'
I was a huge basketball fan back in those days... when the Rockets were relevant. But still, I had NO IDEA of all the shit that was going on in Chicago in 1998. Or, if I did, I've forgotten it all. Funny thing, that last final game in 1998 was THE GAME that made me quit watching the NBA. I'm sure I've said this on here before, but... I was in Vegas watching Game 6, at Utah. The officiating in that game was SO BAD, it was unwatchable. Of course, they didn't explore that aspect of the game in the show. Well, they sort of did. They did at least admit that Rodman and Malone were "in a war" all night. That was an understatement. Rodman MUGGED Malone all night. Others did too.
And they did at least comment on the fact that MJ pushed off to get open on his last shot. It wasn't that bad a push, but it was a foul. Made worse by the way they were calling the game overall. I did NOT have any money bet on that game. I just watched it, at Caesar's. It was painfully obvious to me that the NBA wanted Chicago to win another title. I really don't think I knew all the reasons why? But, it was undeniable.
It's been fun to watch MJ play again. He was something special. I was disappointed that the Rockets didn't get to play against him in the Finals. I think we would have beaten them, both years. Now, we have asterisks next to our Championships. That sucks.
Just a great show though. Really well done. Some things could have been better. But, overall... I couldn't wait to watch every episode.
THANKS ESPN.
Thanks to Michael for holding it for so long, and for finally letting them air it.
We needed this right now.
