Clay Travis had a radio show today where he was all excited at how sports, namely pro sports, would be starting up soon. Most of the comments involved people saying they'll never watch the NBA or NFL again.
The NBA in particular has pissed the most people off. They want to let their players wear patches on their jersey, but they can't wear "Free Hong Kong". Is there not something completely screwed up about that? I'm done with the NBA permanently...4-EVA
IN an NFL story, they want to do daily testing....how wasteful and stupid is this? daily testing for millionaire brats to play football....priorities people. This kind of stuff is why are society is F'd up beyond belief
And in another story, Dr. Fauci is going to throw the first pitch at the Yankees opener. How distasteful is this? He's a celebrity now. He should have been fired weeks ago...his oversight has been a complete failure. But I guess that's New York for ya...NYC is a complete cesspool
There is a massive disconnect with pro sports and the population now...and it's continuing to grow. It's obscene

There was a time when the NBA was wonderful. I loved it.
Those days are long gone.
I’m not as fond of the NFL as I once was either. Most professional athletes have thumbed their noses at us for too long...AMF

My room walls were posters - Dr. J, George Gervin, David Thompson (also had Farrah Fawcett, Roger Staubach and Tony Dorsett) :-)

If all pro athletes could be like Roger Staubach it would almost be perfect.

No intention of watching the NBA. Any one who supports BLM (the movement) pretty much supports everything that I am against. Their stated goal is to disrupt the nuclear family and replace it with raising our young by extended families and communities? Then you get the reparation, defunding police.... These same NBA players that promote this agenda are the exact same players taking huge payouts from Nike who generate their products largely from slave labor over in China. What a bunch of hypocrites!!!

In so many ways, I feel like this is spitting in the face of the American public

The Reds usually suck anyway although this year I thought they might be able to contend. Once I see my first BLM logo or taking of the knee on a Reds Telecast I am out.

Understand the ridiculous BLM stuff but why is Fauci's first pitch like spitting in the face of the American public ?

Understand the ridiculous BLM stuff but why is Fauci's first pitch like spitting in the face of the American public ? I personally have no problem with Fauci's first pitch. I personally have not heard him speak in a while so maybe my opinion is outdated. I always looked at him coming from the side of what is the best possible solution to save the most lives from this virus. Clearly social distancing, face mask... which is far easier accomplished by a shutdown. This may be the most effective solution to eradicate this disease but it very well may not be the best solution for the country.
