1) Rays vs 8) Blue Jays 2) A's vs 7) White Sox 3) Twins vs 6)Astros 4) Indians vs 5) Yankees Baseball this year is having everyone face off in a "Wild Card" round which will have these teams facing off in a best 2 out of 3 before the Divisional Round.....almost giving Baseball's post season tournament a "March Madness" feel. I do think this MLB Post Season will be a little more exciting possibly than in years past, because in a 5-7 game series the better team usually has more time to figure things out, if they find themselves in a 1-0 or 2-1 hole......NOT this year.....not this round I do think there will be upsets. My Predictions 1) Rays will sweep the Blue Jays 2) A's will beat the White Sox in 3, but this has the biggest potential to be an AL Upset 3) Twins will sweep the Astros. The Astros season has been a dumpster fire so far......there's no reason for me to believe this will change now 4) Indians-Yankees- The Ultimate Offense vs Pitching debate in the Post Season could be settled here. The Yankees lead in all offensive categories, the Indians lead in all pitching categories. The Indians have to get a lead and have their starting pitchers dialed in to have a chance to upset the Yankees. If I picked with my heart(Im a Indians Fan) Id say Indians win the series 2-0....but as it is I think the Yankees will have to much firepower for the Tribe and win the series probable 2-0 . I do think this is the most interesting series........and I could see Indians pitchers getting hot and the Tribe making a run.....if they get past New York.

I don't follow the AL as closely as the NL but here are my thoughts....
First, it's interesting to note that of the 16 teams to make the playoffs, 7 are from the Central divisions; Twins, Indians and White Sox in the AL and the Cubs, Cards, Reds and Brewers in the NL. This is significant because given the structure of the schedule this year they all played each other quite a bit so they have played pretty solid competition. Hard to say how that will translate over to the playoffs but it is worth noting...
So I like...
Rays over Toronto - Toronto just happy to be there. Rays pitching has been solid. White Sox over Oakland - Sox struggled down the stretch but bats came alive over the weekend. A's have not been a great playoff team. Minnesota over the Astros - Twins have lost 16 playoff games in a row but are 23-7 at home this year (with 2 of the losses over the weekend). Something has to give, Astros have been inconsistent all year. Cleveland over the Yankees - pitching beats good hitting plus the Indians are home.
In the NL....
Dodgers over Brewers - Brewers are lucky to be there while the Dodgers should win it all. Reds over Braves - Reds pitching should keep the games close while Atlanta has several key injuries in their rotation. Cubs over the Marlins - Marlins are a great story but the run ends in Chicago. Padres over St. Louis - St. Louis played 11 double headers down the stretch, Padres clinched early and will be rested.

I'm not going to quit my day job - you did far better picking the AL than I did.
And how pathetic were the Reds? They scored zero runs in 22 innings, stranded 12 runners on base in the first game which went 13 innings and only got 2 hits in the second game against a rookie pitcher who was on the development squad as recent as late August.
The Reds starting pitchers combined to give up 8 hits in 13 innings, allowed 1 run and struck out 19 and the miserable hitters couldn't get 1 run across the plate. What a thud ending. Now we can enjoy watching the Bengals go 3-13 with Joe Burrow running for his life on just about every play.

Lol I stopped by to check how I did...in the AL I didn't do to shabby......I committed a Cardinal sin though...NEVER predict Minnesota to win a playoff game, until they do. The Twins are a different team once the playoffs begin......they can win 95 games in a year, but are 0-18 in their last playoff games go figure. The Indians Yankees played out unfortunately the way I was afraid it would, the Yankees have SO MUCH offense and are so talented despite thier record you need to score ALOT to beat them in a 5 to 7 game series. To the Indians credit the offense I thought largely showed up and they hit well enough to win both those games...(Even though they only got 3 in game 1.....to get 3 runs off the Yankees Ace isn't bad) The walks is what killed the Indians this year. The Yanks are a good enough offensive to begin with....you can't help them out......and the Tribe did. 12 walks in a 10-9 loss

That said I'm now rooting for Tampa and San Diego in the Playoffs here's my prediction for the remainder of the MLB Postseason
-Yankees-Rays The Rays won 8 of 10 in the Regular season, but if the Yankees have collectively"flipped the switch" they can do to Tampa what they did to Cleveland. Rooting for Tampa my Gut says Yankees in 4
Oakland-Houston......I'm still not that big a believer in Houston.......they were playing a cursed Twins team in the playoffs I'll go A's in 4 here.
ALCS
Oakland vs New York........I'll go A's in 6
National League
Braves vs Marlins......Braves hand the Marlins their first MLB Playoff loss in Franchise history as they are currently 7-0. After this series they will be 7-1....Braves in 4
Padres vs Dodgers.....I might be one of the few whom actually thinks the Padres lineup top to bottom is actually better than the Dodgers and I'm calling the upset......wouldn't be at all suprised to see the Dodgers win this, but there is no fun in going all chalk in predictions. Padres in 5
NLCS Padres vs Braves
I like Padres breaking through and winning the NLCS in 7.
World Series A's vs Padres
Padres in 7
