1) Nick Saban confirmed that yes a contingency plan was talked about for moving the national title game...... I wonder if Ohio State was worried because one person caught Covid and they worried about contact tracing? I imagine if the Buckeyes were missing an entire defensive line the team would have pushed much harder than reported to get the game moved........ I realized that I trust words coming out of a football coach’s mouth way more so.... than anything bro g reported journalistically nowadays

It was my thought as well that contact tracing would be the major issue. I haven’t heard any more.
Personally I would love for Waddle to have an extra week of practice. Saban said he is tracking as a game time decision.

Day came out and said “we’ll have plenty of players available” Sounded like he expects to lose some Togiai and DE Tyreke Smith are the names I’m hearing as possibly out. They would be huge losses. Two other DE’s missed the Sugar Bowl, Harrison and Friday. If they aren’t cleared that leaves OSU very thin on the D line and edge. Missing players is nothing new the past 3 games - it’s an opportunity for the next man up to shine. We’ve already seen Sermon, Hilliard and a couple young defensive backs make impacts due to the starter being out with COVID or injury. Hopefully the COVID cases are more limited than the previous games.

My thinking is Doc if they were actually gonna be out because of Covid Ohio State would have pushed harder for this game to cancelled..../ what I think happened is one player has it, they were worried about possible contact tracing but...as though guys keep testing negative some of them may be allowed to play..... that’s what I’m thinking/hoping. The NFL has a rule where I think it’s you have to wait up to 5 days with contact tracing and if they still aren’t showing signs and testing negative they can play...... at least that’s what happened with the Browns receivers. So when the report opened that they may be without a position group maybe they were A
