I assume they are excellent recruiters. That's what success in CF is all about.

I assume they are excellent recruiters. That's what success in CF is all about. well, not ALL about.... but, it's at least 50%. Maybe, 60% Texas hasn't been terrible at recruiting. We've lacked in player development, player evaluation, and in-game management. Other than that? We've been GREAT!

I'll meet you at 75 % (for recruiting) ...lowest I can go I wouldn’t disagree. But, if recruiting was 75% , Texas should be easily in the top 10 We’re nowhere close

The program has under performed some, imo., considering it has produced more current NFLers than any other B12 team (incl OU ) and is tied for 11th nationally.

It’s the five additional 5* players that Alabama gets over Auburn that gives them such an advantage. For every 5 star Alabama gets, Auburn gets a 3 star instead. Not the only reason, but that is a huge starting deficit. Auburn being top ten in recruiting doesn’t mean they will be top ten in results. It’s more like Auburn is in the second tier of recruiting, and will be mixed in with that second tier, maybe somewhere in the top 25 or 30. Unless you are one of the teams that gets lots of five stars, you’re probably not competing for championships. It is the ranking fallacy that plagues college football. Ranking inherently has no value. Being #2 does not mean you are even close to #1. Being top 10 doesn’t mean you can compete with the top 5. If the #1 recruiter gets twenty five 5* recruits, and the #2 gets one 5*, they aren’t close in results. But people who just look at ranking would say #1 and #2 should be competitive. You see huge gaps between Alabama/Georgia and Auburn with actual recruits and performance, even though Auburn isn’t too far behind in the recruiting rankings.

We can’t even recruit guys in Austin, much less Texas. Will be interesting to see if Sark’s team can improve the talent pipeline
