Want to see what happens in countries where virtually no one wears a mask? Take a look at Denmark.
Based on what we hear every day from the media, you'd expect them to all be dead by now. In fact, Denmark has been one of the LEAST impacted by covid countries in Europe, and even around the world.
How in the world have they managed that?

I wear a mask in public - my oncologist told me I need to be careful due to my compromised immune system caused by the drug I take to keep my lymphoma in check. I also do it out of courtesy to people I come in contact with. It can be uncomfortable but a small thing to do, all things considered. My oncologist also highly recommended I get the COVID vaccine which I did this past Sunday. I got the Pfizer vaccine so I'll need to get a second one in 3 weeks.
It's been a busy month health wise between my prostate woes, oncologist visits and COVID vaccine - the good news is I appear to be on the rebound from the prostate issue, my oncologist check-up revealed that my blood work is good and there are no new signs of the lymphoma AND the only side effect I experienced from the vaccine was a little soreness at the injection site. I've often said as long as you have your health you can get through life's occasional ups and downs - the past 2 weeks have reinforced that opinion.

Gonna host an old time music jam this afternoon, outside on the deck. We'll be spaced about 4-5 ft apart with masks and most of us have been fully vaccinated.

Too many variables to know for sure, but here are three points surrounding different possible factors as food for thought:
- They went on lock down 2 days after their first death, parliament passing emergency laws including travel restriction.
- Their PM had a speech to unify the country, using the word "Samfundssind" which roughly translates into community mindedness, and it seemed to resonate with the Danes. Just a hunch, but I doubt people were going to stores to hoard toilet paper in Denmark. They may have had a more unified response and responsibility and empathy toward their fellow citizen.
- They have less than half the adult obesity rate of the United States.
There's probably hundreds of reasons why they were not as impacted as other countries. Who knows what factors had the most impact or what factors had the least impact?

This factor seems to be one of the most impactful.

This factor seems to be one of the most impactful. Probably the most impactful, but if doesn't differentiate Denmark from most of the rest or Europe. Not only did Denmark never mandate mask wearing, their people didn't do it on their own. It was never wide-spread there. They also never locked down as hard as most of the rest or Europe. Their mobility data was some of the least diminished. The do eat a LOT of fish there. I doubt anyone had a Vitamin D deficiency. Maybe, it's really just that simple? Whatever... Mask haven't truly made a significant difference anywhere. 2% reduction in growth rate over 100 days in the US. If you were buying a car, that's the difference in a 5% loan and a 4.9% loan. Big whup. Fauci was right, the first time he talked about masks.

Epidemiologists, public health professionals, Covid media & politicians have spread false and misleading information on Covid for a year.
Often fueled by bias or incorrect assumptions that they know what people “need to hear,” it has caused irreparable harm to the public’s trust.

Fauci was right, the first time he talked about masks. The study you linked reference daily death growth rate after 100 days of implementing mask mandates. Nowhere in the study did they use your language, ‘growth rate over 100 days’. These are two VERY different meanings. I suggest you read the study again. As a shortcut, they defined daily growth rate: The drop in daily growth rate of 2% (really 1.8%) was not a drop in growth over 100 days, but it was the drop in daily growth rate after 81-100 days of implementation. I’m very certain you are incorrect in stating that this was a decrease over 100 days, which incorrectly makes it look very insignificant.

I’m very certain you are incorrect in stating that this was a decrease over 100 days, which incorrectly makes it look very insignificant. "† Percentage points are coefficients from the weighted least-squares regression models." They are comparing the growth rate for the reference period to other periods... the 1.8% difference is between the reference, and the period 80-100 days out. 1.8% difference in the coefficients. They never address the decrease in the coefficients, between the reference and the period just before. Looks to me as if the rates were already dropping and then continued at more or less the same pace. It's not that easy to say, for sure.... since they don't show ANY of the data.. They've used so much heavy statistical regression, it's almost meaningless. And, underlying this is the assumption that they've accounted for ALL OTHER variables that might impact the rate. That's pretty unlikely. I assume, if they had really compelling data, they'd find a better way to show it. I've looked at a LOT of the same kind of data. It's impossible for me to see any correlation.
