why do you keep saying teams in the Big XII are horrible? The Big XII was the best conference last year, and proved that in the bowls. The three Texas losses were extremely close.
Iowa State doesn't have the top notch talent of Alabama, but they are a senior-laden team with a decent QB. They ARE good and will be good again as they return their entire team
Not sure how the B12 could be the best conference last year considering they dropped 3 games vs non power 5 teams. I would bet my entire life savings that tOSU will be ranked ahead of Iowa St at the end of the season. They are going to drop at least one to Oklahoma and probably 2 if they get the the CCG. Oklahoma St and Penn St have no business being in anyones top 10. do you watch games besides Ohio State?
ya, the Big XII dropped a few games against the Sun Belt, which was having an abnormal year and had 3 teams ranked at various times....a complete record year for the Sun Belt.
The Big XII also had wins over the PAC 12 Champ and the SEC East Champ.
So what conference was better?
The SEC was pretty woeful after you get past the top teams...at least 3 fired coaches in the offseason.
The Big 10? Penn State started out 0-5. Michigan was 2-4. Wisconsin went 4-3.
Maybe the ACC has an argument, but who was the third best team? Miami lost to Okie State in their bowl
who was better?? I'm all ears

The Big 12 had favorable bowl matchups, and they won them. But, that doesn't make them great teams. They're 'good teams'.... but, there was NO TEAM in the Big 12 last year that was anywhere close to Bama, Clemson or OSU in talent. The gap was not small. Texas played well, at times... but, they were poorly coached and inconsistent. The team was also consumed with division resulting from all the SJW crap last year. ya, but we're comparing CONFERENCES, not TEAMS
Alabama was the best team in the nation. Who else was good in the SEC? Georgia and Texas A&M and Florida
whoops, Florida got annihilated by the Sooners
(insert whiny argument about Gators skipping their bowl)
Pitts would have made a difference against the Sooners...that guy is a stud. But...he doesn't play defense. Let's spot the Gators an additional 3 touchdowns with Pitts in the line up. The Gators still lose 55-41
who was better than the Big XII last year? I'm open to any rational argument

If you're basing this analysis on Oklahoma destroying Florida then I think you have a half-baked argument. Remember when Oklahoma beat Alabama in a bowl game and everyone was stoked about the Sooners for next year - what happened then? Bowl games have different meanings for every team. Some want to make a statement, some want to see what they have for next year, some would just as soon not even be in a bowl - it's across the board. Give Oklahoma credit for wanting to make a statement but they were playing a team that quit. I wouldn't read too much into that game.

There is a reason why a lot of people are high on OU entering 2021. Oklahoma was very vulnerable early in 2020, and dropped a few games because they have a young QB in Spencer Rattler, but by the end of the season, he was playing way better. Also, the Big XII has slowly gotten better at defense too. The Big XII is going to be a strong conference in 2021, and I've got OU going to the national title game. So no, I'm not basing it on one sole game. I think OU would have been very competitive with Clemson, Ohio State, and Notre Dame in the playoff last year. The Big XII has teams that can play and have proven wins on the field.
PS. That OU-Alabama Sugar Bowl was from the 2013 season.

Who did Iowa St lose to again last season? It was the Ragin Cajins and the game was not even close.
And yes I watch more games than just tOSU. There is a reason why I have 3 Big Screen side by side in my basement and tend to have several BBQ bashes in honor of my favorite past time.
It is hard to give the nod of Best Conference when they drop 3 games to G5 teams and don't have a team that is good enough to get in the CFP. Sure they went 5 - 0 in the bowl games but only 1 game was truly impressive when Oklahoma put it to Florida. Texas had a good win but then again it was Colorodo.
The BIG had a very very good Indiana team that could have competed with anybody until there QB went down. NW had only one loss played tOSU tough and beat Auburn. Iowa was playing was on a 6 game winning streak but the bowl game was cancelled. I agree PSU and Michigan were bad but not as bad as the bottom half of the B12.
SEC had UGA Bama TAM on Florida that all had very good season.
Oklahoma is a very good team but that was it. It goes very mediocre from beyond that.
I would put both the SEC and B1G ahead of the B12 last year. Considering the elite from those conferences were far above what the B12 had to offer.
My post was specifically pointing the following statements: 1) Ohio State will be ranked higher than Iowa St at the end of the season 2) Oklahoma St will not be in the top 10 at the end of the season. The were 8 - 5 and just lost there all world running back. 3) Penn St will not be in the top 10. The program seems to be in a bit of chaos and recruiting has not been up to par recently.
Are your ears full yet. Would like like to make a friendly wager. $50 on each of the three statements I made that you suggested that my head was in the sand. Proceed goes to Docs choice or cancer charity.

Why would I take that bet? I also agree Ohio State will probably be higher, because they will blaze through their weak Big 10 schedule (no NW or Wisconsin), while Iowa State has a brutal stretch playing in a much tougher conference
What is the knock on Louisiana Rajun Cajuns last year? They went 10-1 and finished #15. What? They don't SOUND tough?

My knock on the Rajun Cajuns is that their wins came mostly against conference opponents and many of the wins were tight. OT aginst GSU. Single digit wins against very bad teams like Arky St and Texas St. A narrow bowl win against a 7-5 UTSA . Somehow they were able to dominate that power house Iowa St. I figured that you would want to take the bet since you disputed my football IQ based on those three points.

I didn't realize Wilson had been beaten up that much for that long. Maybe, that's why Seattle has shown some willingness to trade him away? He was on fire early in the season last year... cooled off in the middle. I wondered whether he might have been hiding an injury of some kind.
