They accomplished their goal. If Bama beats UGA in the CCG they both go. Again look at Bama's resume vs tOSU. Also MSU with no losses beat number 7 on the road. This is why I hate this system.

Funny quote from Joel Klatt about the playoff rankings....
I don't know what @ou_Football fans are so upset about...in a few years when they're in the #SEC then they don't even have to win all their games and will be ranked #2 #Patience @cfbplayoff

Looks like the committee members understand where the best football is played.

And the SEC is doing that better than anyone, despite how much bullshit the game is.

Long and short this committee doesn’t have the balls to face the backlash it will receive from the group of 5 if it puts an outsider like Cincinati in. Honestly -Alabama is top two talent wise what have they actually don’t this season? They have two wins over Mississippi teams whom are ranked….. but Miss State is ranked despite a BAD loss to Memphis why? Ole Miss hadn’t really beaten anyone good for a top 15 ranking, in fact the two goods they’ve faced they’ve been beaten soundly. - My Buckeyes could be in the same boat as Bama…… they are probably one of the few teams that could give Georgia fits talent wise….. but theyve only beaten Penn State(Although Penn StAte is a legit top 15 when Clifford is healthy) you could also argue Ohio State has a better loss than Alabama

You could make a legitimate case that other than Oregon No ONE has a better win than Cincinnati’s over Notre Dame…… and the committee chair will say whom else have they beaten….. my counter to that would be whom else has a win that good? Yes Indiana has struggled……. And cincy only beat them 38-24…… in 2014 my Buckeyes beat a pretty bad Indiana team only 42-27 and went on to win the national title…… I mean the answers he gives are pretty much set up protect the group of 5 invitational really….,, Why is SMU not ranked and Mississippi state is when MSU lost to a horrible Memphis team? Whom happens to be in SMU’s conference? I mean I don’t like being fed bullshit if the Group of 5 teams have no chance at getting to the playoff just say so…….. because they strength of a power 5 conference will almost always be stronger than the collective strength of a group of five conference

Definitely an exclusive P5, 3 game post season 'Invitational' event.......nothing more. Definitely not even remotely an FBS playoff.

You would not be welcome on ESPN's puppet CFP committee.
This wack-a-doodle, phony championship system does, indeed, stir up popular debate and interest in college football and is devilish fun, I guess. If that's what they're after , at the expense of integrity, well, we're probably stuck with it. Is what it is......very unique among all team sports at all levels on this planet.

No undefeated school or conference champ should be afraid of getting "left out"....IMO, that's a red flag. Everyone should have a path to a National Championship.

Let me Cincinnati’s defense attorney here…… Cincinati has one of the top three wins of this season by anyone…… period Notre Dame is probably gonna finish 11-1 and in the top 6. One of Alabama’s two ranked wins is to Miss State…….. Memphis beat Miss State….. what conference is Memphis from again?
