My favorite athlete of all time is Muhammad Ali and he would be my GOAT as well. As far as athletes go, any such list would arguably have to include Deion and Bo. Was Ali greater than the Ping Pong GOAT.......Forrest Gump ?

This must be the official fan club of the greatest power pitcher ever in baseball. A pitcher who once single-handedly accounted for 32% of the wins on his team. 22 wins on team that only won 68. yes.. and I'm the President!

This must be the official fan club of the wildest, lack of control pitcher to ever take the mound who averaged .8 of a win per season over .500 for his entire MLB career despite all the strikeouts and no-hitters. In that sense he was incomparable. Well, a lot of that falls on houston's bats. The Astros scored 0 or 1 runs in 1/4 of his starts.

On June 14, 1974, Nolan Ryan threw 235 pitches and struck out 19 over 13 innings.
Oh... but, he also gave up 10 walks... so, I guess he wasn't that good?
The Angels... (who were HORRIBLE that year)... beat the Red Sox... 4-3

Or how about John Stockton's assists and steals?
15,806 A
3,265 S
Both probably untouchable.
Maybe the best pure PG?

Just to expand the field a little... Secretariat's time of 2:24 for 1 1/2 miles in the Belmont is a record that, I think, will NEVER be broken. His record of 1:59:20 in the KY Derby hasn't been broken yet... after 50 years.... But, others have been within fractions of seconds. His time in the Belmont is STILL more than 2 full seconds ahead of the next best time at that distance, at ANY track. This, in a sport where records are kept in 100's of seconds. www.espn.com/sportscentury/features/00016464.html

But it is pretty darn incredible that almost 50 years later he still holds the record for all three Triple Crown races. They've run nearly 150 races in the series since 1973 and not one horse has beaten even one of Secretariat's records. Pretty amazing - I remember watching the Belmont and he just demolished the field, it was one of the great sports moments of my lifetime.

As good as any I ever saw... His steals were simply amazing. Pure anticipation and quickness. Treated each game like a family outing, with wife and kids there. Drove home in a minivan. Humble.
