I would probably pay $50 a month during football season..... But, I'd drop it 7 months out of the year.
I dont think ESPN survives without the cable bundle. Not in the current form anyway.

I dropped cable and satellite two years ago for an antenna. Do I miss ESPN, FS1, CBSSN? Yes, but I have the internet to keep up with it and I also grew up in the sixties when there was only one game on per week. So, I would pay two or three dollars per month and no more. I have METV, AntennaTV and YouTube and do not miss the cable at all. I predict cable is in for big changes soon just to survive because Roku, Hulu & etc. are stealing their customers.

Bundling is a great deal for sports fans. If we ever go ala carte, most sports fans will ultimately have to pay more if they want to get the same content and number of games that they do now under most cable packages. I would pay whatever they ask for ESPN / ESPN 2 / SEC Network / etc during college football season. Those are must have channels for me. And I suspect that they wouldn't let you just subscribe for football season and then drop out - perhaps it would have to be a one-year subscription otherwise everyone would just cherry pick football season.

That is a fact. From what I've read, the cost would at least triple. That's how heavily the bundle subsidizes the cost.
