I thought that we shouldn't turn our backs "on people who truly are being persecuted because of their religion"?? Actually, you accidentally stumbled into a good point. It would have infinitely more sense to put displaced Syrians into refuge camps until it was safe for them to return home than to split them up and ship them out all over Europe and the U.S. You are "refining" your position, just like Donald Trump. Actually, your point makes sense, but it is very different than allowing entry based upon whether an individual has been persecuted because of religion.
I didn't "stumble upon" the idea that we should be putting Syrian refugees in camps in the region.... Trump has been saying that for more than a year.
Allowing immigrants based on "religious persecution" has been a staple of US Immigration policy for a very long time now. In order to verify such claims, ICE agents must attempt to confirm the religion of the asylum seekers. Religion has been a component of asylum decisions for a long, long time.

I guess that I assumed that you had stumbled upon a good idea, as is usually the case.
I have no problem with allowing entry into the U.S. for individuals who have been persecuted because of their religious beliefs. The irony is that Donald Trump, and you are proposing persecuting people based by denying entry based upon their religious beliefs.

I guess there's an example in there somewhere.....?
I don't see any reason Trump should be trying cuddle up with Flake. He's no ally.

Trump shares your mentality.. Perhaps that is why he is losing.
He goes to a meeting of Senate Republicans, and proceeds to attack senators whose support he needs -- in front of the other Republican senators.
His confrontation with Senator Flake was based upon his idiotic assault on Senator McCain, especially asserting that McCain could not have been a war hero because he was captured.
I could add a lot more, but I trust that you are capable of grasping the idea.

Senators need to support their PARTY's chosen leader.
Guys like Flake need to get OVER themselves... The onus is ON THEM to make peace with their Party's nominee.

Rasmussens weekly poll of indies:
Trump 44 Clinton 24 Undec 33
Offered for comparison to Romney's performance - Romney won Rasmussen Indies 50/45
With this, and with Trump's levels of support among blacks and Hispanics, this could translate to an EC landslide.
Nonetheless, he should continue to play as if he's down a TD in the 4th qtr.

Unless the Republicans figure a way to steal the nomination from him.

How wrong can you possibly be? Trump has to earn their support!!
He certainly isn't going to accomplish that by launching pointless, childish and stupid attacks against numerous important Republican leaders: Sen. McCain, Sen. Flake, Speaker Ryan, Gov. Martinez, Gov. Walker, Sen. Rubio, Rep. Gowdy, Sen. Kirk, Sen. Sasse, Sen. Cruz and others. He has attacked important and influential conservative political commentators such as Charles Krauthammer and George Will. The list goes on and on.
In front of Senate Republicans, he said that he would work to see that Flake was defeated in his re-election bid. He called Sen. Kirk a loser, and called out Sen. Sasse in front of their colleagues.
It is like Trump is determined to lose.

It wouldn't make any difference. Trump has already destroyed the Republican Party.

Since when is being down 7 in the 4th desperate? Might as well stop following college football.
Here's the latest Ipsos/Rueters Hill +11%
Hill 44% Trump 33%
Those Polled: Dem 46% Repub 37% Ind 16%
According to both Pew and Gallup, Independents are roughly 40% of the population. When you replace most of the I’s with D’s you can lie with statistics.
By the time the debates conclude, it will be like Trump is running unopposed.

Lol. As if Trump has ever showed an ounce of loyalty to the Republican Party!
He is accomplishing the unimaginable: losing to the most flawed, corrupt and inept politician in my very long lifetime.

Smacking down punks like Sasse, who's been threatening to run as a third party candidate, is a good way to do that. The PEOPLE have chosen a leader for this battle. The ESTABLISHMENT needs to get with the program.
