Tonight, you'll these rankings:
1. Alabama 2. Ohio State 3. Clemson 4. Washington 5. Michigan 6. Wisconsin 7. Penn State 8. Colorado 9. Oklahoma 10. Oklahoma State
And next week, Alabama and Clemson will win their games.... Clemson will move to #2 as Ohio State sits home and does nothing
If Washington wins, they'll move to #3, as Ohio State sits home and does nothing
If Penn State wins, they'll leap frog Wisconsin (just beat them), Michigan, and Ohio State (head-to-head win/Conf Champ argument)...they will be #4
If Wisconsin wins, I think they'll leap Michigan as B1G Conference Champ, but I think Ohio State will stay ahead of them with better W/L record and head-to-head win...Ohio State will stay at #4
If Colorado wins AND Wisconsin wins...I think they'll have a chance to jump the B1G Champion, as Ohio State will move to #3, and the committee will give the 4th bid to a different conference, the PAC 12
I am 99% sure that's how it will roll.........
.......on the off chance Clemson chokes, you'll see the Big XII Champ come into play (unless Penn State wins the B1G, and then you'll see Ohio State get in)
Here's how it breaks down for each fanbase: Penn State - win win win Washington - win win win Ohio State - Wisconsin win and/or Colorado win Colorado - win and hope Wisconsin wins

This is why rules are needed.........its a guess as to who is in based on different scenarios because we don't know what "rules" the committee will adopt to make their choices. However, if an objective method were employed, we would know who gets in based on all possible outcomes just like with the final weekend of the NFL.

The committee rules, along with the stupid CFP Polls, create confusion and have no coherence... Top 3 Conference Champs Top At-LargeThen Ohio State would certainly be a lock...you could even keep them as the #2 team as well #1 Alabama vs. #4 Washington #2 Ohio State vs. #3 ClemsonOf course, expanding to 8 would be extremely easy

VERY good analysis.
We don't have THAT MUCH data on this new system yet. But, if they DO what they SAY... and, DO what they've DONE? Then you're analysis is spot on.

Here's how it breaks down for each fanbase: Penn State - win win win Washington - win win win Ohio State - Wisconsin win and/or Colorado win Colorado - win and hope Wisconsin winsNot from what I heard from the committee tonight. They stated that they want to 4 best teams available. They also were pretty clear when they said that Conference championships and head to head only come into play when it becomes a toss up. They also indicated that there is a pretty big separation between Ohio St and Penn St. If Penn St they will be 2 - 1 vs top 10 teams and 2 - 2 vs top 25 teams Ohio State will be 3 - 1 vs top 10 teams The kicker is that OSU has just one loss vs PSU 2 losses. From what I took from the show tonight. The teams that have a 1 or less loss have the resume that it takes. Bama is obviously in. Clemson and Washington are in if they win. Ohio St gets the free pass. The most interesting scenario that I see is if Colorado beats Washington. Then it comes down to Colorado, Michigan, and the Big 10 champs. In this case you have 2 conference championships against Michigan which will have beaten both of those teams.

The most interesting scenario would be a BAMA loss to Florida. BAMA is in regardless of the outcome of this game. The may drop into the 2/3 slot but that would be it. The most significant thing coming from this game is to determine who gets into the Sugar Bowl.

Trust me, there is NOTHING interesting about the Alabama-Florida game. Do we have to play it?

Didn't watch the rankings show last night - I was playing trivia with my brothers and sisters - but the key thing I heard this morning on the replay was the committee chair say...our job is to identify the best 4 teams in the country and with that in mind, Ohio State is a lock. And if Washington loses I think Michigan will get in as they will have beaten Colorado and both the BIG Ten championship teams. This almost certainly would be the worst case scenario for the committee - having to pick second and third place divisional teams over two conference champions due to head to head results...
