The games are too long due to TV. If you go to an FCS game, with lots of passing and such, the game still last about 3 hours while SEC games, on TV, are lasting 4 hours.

Poor timing on the article -- games average 3 minutes less this season compared to last season.

I have no problem with the length of the games. I don't particularly like the long time outs when I'm at games in person but the sponsors have to sell their products!

It absolutely shouldn't take over 3 1/2 hours to play 11 minutes of actual football action. TV games definitely too long. Non TV games a little more tolerable.

I could be wrong, but I doubt if you would get many takers on those suggestions.
If takes a long while to reset on an incomplete pass in the end zone when the line of scrimmage is at the 50. 12 minute quarters is for high school.
Time killers are replays, penalties and breaks for TV commercials. However, I wouldn't change a thing.

ESPECIALLY, in the Big 12, where teams pass on damn near every play.
I think they should follow the NFL's lead.. and, make the 1st and 3rd quarters faster by not stopping the clock on Out of Bounds plays in those quarters.

The 2001 GMAC Bowl started at 8:00pm and ended at 2:00am. It was not too long.

Who actually watches the commercials on Saturday? I always have a secondary and often times tertiary game to watch, combined with DVR, I never watch a commercial. They should integrate commercials into the already abundant dead time in football. This would actually increase exposure to ads.
And when a play is under review, instead of replaying the same thing 20 times, go to commercial break.

I'm with you, aufan. My DVR is recording one or two games, while I am watching 10 others by setting the channels as "Favorites". With the touch of a button, I can scan through the games on my favorites. I can watch a full recorded game in 30 minutes by fast forwarding through commercials, halftimes, timeouts, and delays between plays.
Phil Steele has a wall of TVs, enough to watch every game live simultaneously.

11 minutes of actual football viewed in 30 minutes ! That's pretty efficient FHF. I wonder if I could figure out how to do that.
