Some of you guys sure need to get in touch with touch with your beloved NCAA and tell them to nip this CFP thing in the bud.... They SURE don't seem to be fighting it. In fact, I'd say they're downright supportive... If you want to deny legitimacy? This is NOT the way to do it.

Bevo, Bevo, Bevo
Read the headlines "Tigers win College Football Playoff national championship ". Of course the NCAA sites and record book acknowledges all post season activity and winners of assorted events. The NCAA record book acknowledges that somebody won the Famous Idaho Potato event too...and the East West Shrine game ..or the Senior Bowl ...all that stuff. For your next educational step, Bevo go to NCAA football championship history > division 1 and see if you can find any mention of Clemson , Alabama Etc.

Hen... the NCAA is PROMOTING The CFP with this page.. you can't deny that. They certainly are NOT making any move to substitute their own playoff format. Rather, they are supporting the CFP.

Its a big deal, no doubt .Clemson is an NCAA member, after all..... but "Sanction" is not the proper word for your thread.

The NCAA CHOSE, and posted a photo of Clemson players wearing a shirt that says "PROVEN, 2016 National Champions". Looks like a "sanction" to me.

Darn. That gave away the correct answer to a question that I had posed to Bevo. I doubt that he could have answered it on his own.
The "CFP national championship". Not the NCAA national championship. Not the BCS national championship. It is the championship of one-half of one subdivision. It is akin to Western Kentucky being the C-USA national champion.

Looks like a "sanction" to me. Ok fair enough with 'sanctioned' meaning authorized or approved. The NCAA 'approves' a plethora of post season exhibition events because it involves its member institutions. The Cartel's Invitational is certainly not sponsored by or administered by the NCAA and the governing body of the sport certainly doesn't award anything to the winner...like a championship trophy which it awards to all of the other 98 NCAA official sports champions. Also, you won't find the NCAA logo on any ticket stubs, on the game programs, on the playing fields or anywhere else for this event concocted by the Cartel and ESPN.

The CFP is run by Bill Hancock, who DID work in the NCAA for many many years... running the Basketball tourney. The NCAA, to me, looks to be VERY happy to allow the CFP to run this show.
I've been trying to learn more about the CFP organization. But, there's not a great deal of information available.

The NCAA power people are the same ones running the CFP. By not having it run by the NCAA, they get away with a lopsided system.

This is all you have to know about this "CFP Organization" as you call it, Bevo. First off, it's more accurately referred to as the Cartel. It consists of the major Bowl directors, the 65 Presidents of the self titled, so called 'P5' universities, the 5 conference commissioners of the leagues that the so called "P5" universities play football in and very very importantly, the Disney Corporation. This Cartel absolutely controls the big time CF post season. ...and reminder of definition of 'Cartel' : An association of businesses that work together to control production and pricing of products. The CFP, in reality, is the CFI ( Cartel Football Invitational ) ..or if you like the sound of CFP ( the Cartel Football Playoff )

This argument is getting tiresome. We all know that the CFP is not an "NCAA Playoff." We also know that the winner of the CFP is not an "NCAA Champion." Whether that actually bothers anyone or not is up to the individual. It sure doesn't seem to matter to Clemson fans right now. Trying to consistently point out that Clemson or any other prior CFP/BCS Champ is not an "NCAA Champ" is not necessary - we are all aware. I would be fine with the NCAA taking over the post-season playoffs and welcome a larger playoff. But that doesn't mean that I experienced any less joy when my school won their three national championships in 1996, 2006, or 2008 based on the system in place. What else needs to be acknowledged? Why do we have to keep pissing in each other's Wheaties over this?

Piss hitting Wheaties makes such a pleasing sound?
Really... that's the only reason I can come up with.
