If any of you have any tips to provide, regarding teams you follow... why not put them here, to help all of us? I've seen every UK game this year, and half of the Louisville games... I'll give you an ironclad guarantee that Kentucky will make it to the Sweet 16. Louisville has about a 90% chance. Michigan worries me, a little... but, I think the Cards can handle them. That's when things get hairy. Kentucky has to play one of the two WORST teams for them to play... UCLA (Kansas is the other). The Bruins also like to play up-tempo, and they have legit athletes to hang with Kentucky. They WHUPPED UK earlier this year, in Rupp. I'm sure you will hear a lot about that game in the next two weeks. But, I'll say this: Kentucky had SEVERAL key players who were very sick in the days before that game. It showed. They were very sluggish in that game. Plus, that game was very early in the season, when the Cats still were playing NO DEFENSE. That has changed in the past month. I think, Kentucky will have little trouble beating the HELL out of UCLA this time around. Then, North Carolina... a tougher matchup. ANOTHER team that likes to run. Kentucky BEAT North Carolina earlier this year... but, it was very close. It will be a toss-up this time around. I like UK's chances.... but, I have to say this is 50/50 at best. IF, and that's a BIG IF, the Cats can get past UNC, I think they can win it all. This team is as talented as any in the country. It all boils down to defense: Will they play any? Louisville actually has an easier road to the Elite 8.... but, that's where their run ends. They don't have enough offense to stay with Kansas. Don't buy the Louisville hype this year... they are not that great. Kentucky is worth taking a chance on... outside of here, I doubt many really believe they have a shot. Louisville? No...

Lol on me... I just watched a replay of our recent loss against Kansas.... This Kentucky team is TOO YOUNG and immature to go all the way. I still think they breeze through the first weekend. And, likely will exact revenge on UCLA. After that? They're in big trouble.

Bama gave the Cats a pretty good game in the SEC Tourney. While I was proud, it does not bode well.

Bama gave the Cats a pretty good game in the SEC Tourney. While I was proud, it does not bode well. It's hard to tell whether these annoying "lapses in attention" are just because they're bored with the inferior competition? Or, just an inability to focus for 40 minutes?
In every game, they seem to have a 3-5 minute stretch where they just quit playing defense, and just shoot jumpers on offense. Against GOOD teams, like Kansas, this just kills them. They get in a hole they can't get themselves out of.

I think my pick is going to be UCLA. I really like that point guard (even though his dad is a moron) and they can score with anyone. If I don't pick UCLA, I'm going with Arizona. Sean Miller was our coach at Xavier and I'd love to see him get to the Final Four, if not win. Also happy for the Northern Kentucky kids - in their first year of eligibility they made the NCAA and get to play Kentucky. Some of my co-workers were saying they got a tough draw but I guarantee you if you asked their players who they'd like to play the top two choices would be Kentucky and Louisville. They aren't going to come close to winning but at least they'll be able to say thwy played the Wildcats.
Side note - my son is stoked because he went to Dayton and if the Flyers win (which will be difficult against Wichita State) they'll get to play Kentucky - which is where his new bride went; a civil war may be brewing on Sunday!

One tip I will provide - I think our Musketeers may have a short run this year. They only go 8 deep and 3 of the players rotate at center. So they have one sub for the other 4 positions. This has been the case since late January. Three of the starters play close to 40 minutes a game and they're currently running on fumes. Plus the point guard is a freshman who was thrust into the role when the starting point guard blew an ACL and was lost for the year - he is very prone to freshman mistakes. I'd love to see them beat Maryland but I don't think they'll be able to hang in there for 40 minutes.

The ACC was tough... all year. I think they'll do well in the tourney.

Actually I picked UCLA in my bracket that was time tagged at 8:03 this morning, so I actually heard it from myself first. Agree with you about X. Dayton will likely have the same fate as I don't see either escaping the first round.

I have seem them play lackadaisical and I have seem them play extremely well. Depends on which team shows up. They do have a very interesting potential second round matchup against Wichita St (which I have already conceded will be my second favorite team the Dayton Flyers). They got a back court that can light it up from outside. It will be interesting to see how well UK defends beyond the arc.

I don't follow college hoops that much but why aren't 4 teams simply 'voted' into the final four ( like the Dr.Pepper FB championship ). Wouldn't that make more sense ?
