Watched the road to the playoffs or whatever it was called last night and once again David Pollack and crew started the annual chest thumping chant of how the SEC is clearly the best conference and the B1G is simply horrible once you get past the top tier. Here is how the teams performed out of conference vs P5 teams last year. ACC 17 - 9 P12 8 - 8 BIG10 9 - 11 SEC 11 - 14 B12 5 - 8 Last year the ACC was so far ahead of everyone it was almost ridiculous. The BIG10 had a slightly better win percentage compared to the SEC last year. Based on what changes from last year can these idiots make the claim that the SEC is not only better than the BIG but somehow better than the ACC? Just looking at the coaching changes the B1G picked up PJ Fleck which I think is a substantial upgrade. The SEC lost Hugh Freeze who clearly brought Ole Miss to a new level in competitiveness and recruiting. They also replace Les Miles with Ed Orgeron. At this point from what I have seen, I am not impressed with Orgeron. I also hear that he is a players coach and what that means to me is the players run the ship. Looking at the teams in the SEC BAMA is scary good but outside of that what other team is a threat to be top 10??? I would be willing to bet on any of the remaining 13 teams to not be in the top 10 at the end of the season. OK OK I am done ranting. Time to go back to my standard policy and tune these Bozo's once the season gets rolling.

The SEC is down right now....you have Alabama, and then everyone else.
Ole Miss and Miss St are back down to earth...
Not sure what Auburn is doing....
LSU has a chance to rise to the top. They now have a local coach, with great coordinators. I expect LSU to rise...
Arkansas is good, but how good?
Florida has settled into mediocrity....how long does their coach have? Florida is a WIN-NOW school. They can do better...
Tennessee clearly is NOT back....
South Carolina has dwindled to nothing
But....what about Georgia? keep an eye on them.
Kentucky might rise some too
Texas A&M is toast

If I had to lump the SEC into categories, it would be like this:
Elite Alabama
Possible Challengers LSU and Georgia
Good teams Arkansas, Kentucky, Auburn
Mediocre Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Florida
Bottom feeders Missouri, South Carolina, Vanderbilt

I would probably promote Auburn and drop LSU one spot. Auburn does have a doable schedule with BAMA at home. I don't think Florida has fallen that far and could see them as a potential challenger only because they are in the east.

I am not looking forward to meeting them. They seem to be excited having a QB who was not developed by Gus so we will see how positive that is.

Yep, glad Clemson gets Aubie early and at home.

Problem is, the general mass of CF fans ( the most gullible in all of sports ) think its honest sports joutnalism rather than a 'sales pitch'.

LSU's backup QB transferred today, He was the 11th player to transfer since the spring. Something's wrong down there in Baton Rouge.

And especially behind Kentucky who hasn't beaten Florida in football for as long as I have watched college football. But I trust your judgment.
