Watson also gave his high school team new unis with some of his signing cash. SURELY, that is some kind of rules violation?

As I watched the video, it reminded me of a life-changing experience.
I had an opportunity to get to know George Steinbrenner, because he had an office directly above mine on Rocky Point Island, which is off the causeway connecting Tampa to Clearwater.
He told me that his father taught him that if he didn't keep his donations secret, then it wasn't charity. I was young at the time, and was just becoming able to make charitable donations. It only became known after his death how generous Steinbrenner was.
His words made sense to me. To this day, no one knows a thing about my charitable giving over the past 40 years. I will only admit that all I have given has gone to the same place, and that it is not a charity.

He told me that his father taught him that if he didn't keep his donations secret, then it wasn't charity. In general, I agree with that. I don't like to make a big deal of any donations we make. But, sometimes... telling others HELPS to encourage them to also donate. So, there CAN be a good purpose for making it public. My favorite charity used to be the United Way. I used to also volunteer a lot of time to them as well. I still give some to them, but not as much as I used to. Now, it's more spread out.

The Salvation Army has been a favorite of mine since I was a child. I am happy to support them. I agree and try to not let anyone know how much I give. I am happy for people to know that I give and to whom for encouragement.

Clinton Foundation LOL! NAILED IT! For over 40 years all of my charitable contributions have gone to a single cause that is every bit as worthy as the cause Doc supports. I have never asked anyone else to contribute.

I have never asked anyone else to contribute. Why? There never has and never will be a need for anyone else to contribute.

There never has and never will be a need for anyone else to contribute. Perhaps the destination of your money is .....you and your family?
