My faux pas year was 1997. LOL I didn't think it was 77. That's when I graduated High School, and I was a BIG John Denver fan. The first time I ever kissed a girl was coming home from a Denver concert in Houston. My older sister and her boyfriend were going, along with another couple her age. My mother insisted that they let me tag along. I was just a freshman (9th grade), and couldn't drive. Since everyone was coupled up, I also invited a cute little girl around the corner from my house. We were very good friends, and I was more than a little smitten. But, she was only an 8th grader... We'd never really been 'romantic' before... but, on the ride home, she and I were sitting in the backseat, with my sister's friends. They were Seniors, and they'd been going steady for awhile. They were in a full blown "make-out session". My date and I watched them for a bit. I guess it got the "juices flowing" so to speak. Eventually, we started kissing too. That was a pretty fun car ride home. :-) I stayed good really good friends with that girl all through college. She also came to UT. Really though, after that, she was always more like a little sister. She was WAY too hot for me. So, I gladly accepted "friend/brother" status. She ceased to be my friend at my wedding. Naturally, she attended... since, she was a neighborhood friend. But, my wife also lived in our neighborhood. MamaBevo was NOT a fan of my other friend. So, that pretty much ended that. I got through to the Rush Limbaugh show on the day John Denver died. Basically, I said... "Hated his politics, but loved his music".

JOHNE DENVER was one of the greats. All be at the WVU game tomorrow. I am sure I will hear Country Roads at least a dozen times tomorrow.
