They need to start laying down some basic rules or parameters...
at this point, the committee can just make up whatever, to support Whatever decision they make....
just say the playoff is Top 3 conference champs (or Notre Dame/BYU) and 1 At-Large
ok, how do you determine the teams? Go with best record
what is a tie-breaker if records are the same? 1. Head-to-head 2. SOS
it's not hard....They just need to define a finish-line, like every other freaking sport

All they have to do is:
1) Require every team to play the same number of games ( maximum) 2) Use CJ's system and take the top 4
But, this kills the CCG system. So, that ain't happening.

Ya, I'm starting to think we need a full blown 16 team playoff

6 would be enough.
5 CCs and one at large. #1 and #2 get byes.
AL bid must be in Top 12 to be considered.

What we have is a simple poll and nothing else.
The voting members are so few bias is magnified.
The previous system was better in that bias could never get out of hand.

I'm starting to believe that you're right about this. I'd take CJ's system all day long over what we have now. Here's his Top 10: FBS 1 -Wisconsin 69 2 -Georgia 62 3 -Alabama 62 4 -Clemson 61 5 -Central Florida 59 6 -Oklahoma 57 7 -Auburn 56 8 -Notre Dame 56 9 -Penn State 54 10 -Ohio State 53

I listened to a program last night where a guy very methodically and systematically laid out why UCF should not (and is not) in the conversation for the playoffs. It made absolute perfect sense. The good news is they'll probably get an opportunity to play a traditional power in a bowl game. It will be the 9th or 10th rated team and they'll be all geeked up to make a statement. Unfortunately Scott Frost will be employed by Nebraska at that time.

No need .Yes need. We're trying to fix things CJ's system doesn't factor in home or away games... They just need to have an equal number of games.

When you're already behind, and you miss one of your very rare P5 games? that's just a killer.

The guys point was they play 1 or 2 P5 games while all the P5 teams play 9 or 10. Big difference whether some want to recognize that or not.
