Based solely on the spring game both Burrows and Haskins made a case to why they should be the starter. Overall I thought Burrows looked better. He seemed to be a bit more consistent and had some nice deep balls. Haskins on the other hand had 2 extremely well thrown deep balls for TD's. Martell probably secured the number 3 spot. He certainly showed some signs of elusiveness but could not seem to find open receivers as he held on to the ball too long. Then we he made the pass his accuracy was simply not good.
Decision time for Urban. He will likely either need to name Burrows the starting QB or run the risk of losing him as he has graduated and could transfer and play immediately next season.

I'd call Burrow's bluff. Haskins has more upside and will allow for all the play makers to be utilized. We don't need the running QB - we need to get the ball in the hands of Dobbins, Weber, Campbell, Victor, McLauren, Hill, etc. Frankly, I don't like the 'if I don't start I'm out of here' approach and I'd like to see OSU use all their weapons.
OSU can win 10-11 games with either guy. It's the other 4 or 5 games they need to worry about.
I would try to get the ball in Martell's hands once in a while - that kid is quick!!

I think it is more the media bringing up the potential transfer if Burrow does not get the job. I have not heard it from his mouth as of yet. Regarding Burrow, he was the clear number 2 until he got injured then was dropped down in the pecking order. Based on past spring games with Burrow and Haskins, I do think Burrow has shown more in terms of getting the ball into the playmakers hands. Then again, Haskins delivered big time last season against Michigan and had 2 extremely well thrown deep balls in the spring game. Martell is light years behind those 2 in the passing game but is extremely quick and I would expect that he would have a few packages in the mix that are design for his talents.

Here are Haskins plays from last year. These are game situations, he spreads the ball, he threads the needle - he has some zip - and this is not not two-handed touch, wearing a black jersey. I really hope he winds up the starter - I just think he's someone who will allow for the entire arsenal to be utilized to its fullest. I'd also like to see a little variety from the JT Barrett gameplans the past 4 years. www.youtube.com/watch?v=_skFk-9WoXk
